Yes it's a very nice and cosy town. I rewired the Coles store there about 7 years ago.

Was that the store you mentioned a couple of months ago that burned down. Wonder what the cause was... faulty wiring perhaps? :D

I finally got around to scanning one of the other photos I took of Clint in Edinburgh. It might be a bit grainy but it's still pretty cool No digital cameras back then I'm afraid.

Thanks, Walt! And that would have been 1990, right?

I met him in Edinburgh when he was promoting White Hunter Black Heart . I was with my good mate and fellow board member Daveytriumph .
We managed to get behind the scenes as Clint was being escorted to his car in a private car park . Just enough time for a quick hello and a photo .
Later on we were able to ask him a few questions at a q & a session . He also turned up at the premiere , sat down and watched the film with the audience  . He was as cool in real life as I could have hoped for.......................what a day , really , what a day !

Thank you Walt, for posting your photo of Clint :)

That's a great achievement, well done! O0

I can relate to what you are saying about the quality of the photo, back in 1990 I had one of those Crappy 110 cameras >:(

I've never met him, but I met somebody who did.  I was steelhead fishing up on the Klamath & I met this other guy up there fishing.  He said he was pheasant hunting with some friends up in Redding, CA & after they got done hunting they went to a bar.  He said it was real dark in there.  Before his eyes got adjusted to the darkness he said he heard this guy telling a story, and he says, "That sounds like Clint Eastwood."  And it was him.  He said Clint bought them a couple of beers before he left.  Now, that would be really cool!

Hello Clint Eastwood fans of the world.

Thought I would tell you my story of meeting Clint twice in a day.

He was on his way to the photo call of 'Mystic River'.
The first time I saw him in the flesh was him sitting in the car getting caught in traffic.
My mate and me tried and asked him to wind the window down to sign but he was too interested of getting to the venue.
Decided this was not going to happen so we ran to the photo call.
My girlfriend was there already at the time and we each had a pass  to get to the arrivals.
Watching each star get out of the car was great to see and than the legend arrived.
He got out of the car  and walked up the steps chatting to PR's and waving at us and the other crowd behind the public barriers.
At this time we realized this was not going to be easy to meet him or get an autograph.
Over a hour we waited the other side of the foyer where the drivers and loads of Press/camera crews were waiting.
Kevin Bacon, Tim Robbins started to walk down the steps and by this time I was on hypo of seeing CE again hoping this was going to make my day.
He came around the corner and walked down the stairs (we have photos..will attach soon) got to the bottom where everyone was calling his name.
He noticed a camera crew and walked towards them which is where we were :).
After his interview he signed for a lad and turned towards his car. To over come the noise I shouted his name quite loud and he looked and acknowledged to sign for me. Being on a high at the time of meeting the legend everything I wanted to say came out really fast ,I was so pleased to meet him and get the auto.In fact when he finished signing he did this almighty smirk as I just called him an absolute legend.
I was in the best mood all day.
Will post what happened in the evening as my GF and mate still wanted to meet him but both were please for me as I had been waiting for this day to happen.

Pictures/video
I have some pictures we took on that morning and have been looking everywhere if others may have some.
Found a few on wire image but I am looking for the departure where I was in that moment of time.
Found this video of someone's trip to Canne....2mins into it and I am in it ;-)

Here are 2 photos we took of the moment.

I’ve been meaning to tell you guys this story for some time, today is as good as any. I’m 39 years old and a lifelong fan of Clint’s, my dad raised me on his films. Living in northern California I’ve tried for many years to just get a glimpse of my hero. I went to several of the California State Park commission meetings only to see Clint’s name tag and an empty seat, but did learn how to stop erosion on a forest trial  :(. I also would go eat at the Hog Breath in Carmel in hopes of seeing him but to no avail. I attended the AT&T celebrity pro am also for several years at Pebble Beach. I did get to meet Bill Murray and Kevin Costner, and see many other stars (yawn) but no Clint. What I did see in the pro shop was photos of Clint handing out the winning award for many years past, I knew where I would be next year. Fast forward to last year’s 2012 pro am. After walking around for several days and hearing Clint had been seen several times I got very excited!
Sunday in the final minutes of the event, standing as close to the huge crystal award as I could I thought maybe this was never going to happen. Who do I see walking in my direction Clint!! I was so happy to finally get to see him in the flesh; little did I know it would get much better. I watched in glee snapping photos while Clint talked to the pros and friends. He gave a short speech and handed out the award to Phil something or other, who cares pro golfer…lol… and headed out the back of the crowd.

As we took the bus back to the parking lot I was so happy to finally have that moment. My wife and I get in our car and hit the freeway only to see taillights as far as the eye could see heading out of Monterey. My wife says “why don’t we go have dinner at the Missing Ranch (Clint’s place) to celebrate seeing him”. I smile and flip the car around on the center of the freeway and head up the road to the Mission Ranch. They get us right in and take us to the back of the restaurant. They seat us next to famous comedian Tom Dreesen, that’s cool. The restaurant was pretty empty; as I scan the back patio my eye catches Clint sitting with friends eating dinner! :o

I almost jumped out of my seat with excitement! My wife had to laugh at me as my heart was racing. I tried to take a peek from time to time and not seem like a stalker. About half way through our dinner Clint gets up giving hugs to his friends and saying good bye. My wife says “you better go it’s your chance”. I walked towards the opposite end of the hall way he was heading for, as I reach the hall it’s just me and Clint walking towards each other with no one around. I stopped halfway and smiled, Clint flashed me a great smile walked right up to me and stopped. I said “Excuse me Clint; I wanted you to I know I’m one of your biggest fans”. He gave me a look right out of one of his movies and stuck his hand out. I shook his hand and he said “it’s a pleasure to meet you” and headed for the back door exit. He had a huge smile as he could easily see I was seriously star struck. Heading out the door he turned and popped his head out to say “have a great night” I said “Thank you”. As fast as it all happened it’s something I will never forget. His huge smile, so kind and the fact he looks years younger than he is, will stick with me forever. I just wanted to see him once and I got more than I could ever ask for. Thanks Clint!  :)

That's a lovely story, thanks so much! I like to think that Clint would try to give all the thousands of his "biggest fans" who are lucky enough to meet him in person such a moment to treasure.

(We have a golfer on this board who won't be happy with "Phil something or other, who cares pro golfer…lol…" ... but never you mind him!  ;) )

And welcome to the Board, Tank Murdock! 8)

Thanks a bunch guys!
I have my tickets for the AT&T pro am come up in a couple weeks... going to do the same plan on Feb 10th I'll hang out after for the awards then over to the Mission Ranch for dinner. Hoping Clint has the same plan.... :)

This time I have another huge Clint fan going with me that has always dreamed of meeting him... so he is very excited.

I told don't get your hopes up because he could be a no show ..... he is pretty hit or miss on this event.

I would love to me and him to get a picture with Clint... if we do I'll post if for you guys
