Title: This Or That
Post by: Matt on December 02, 2015, 02:43:24 PM
Answer with your preference, and if you'd like to expand on your answer, do so! If not, that's fine too!

Then add your two items to anyone who wants to jump in and answer with their preference.  The items can be ANYTHING Clint related. Favorite movie, favorite quote, favorite co-star, etc.

To start us off...

Which do you like better (not which movie, just poster art on this one!)

(I know it's not really a "Trivia Game", but I like to see a couple of the forums active, and so I put it here so it doesn't compete much with the Tag game).

Great idea, Matt!  Thanks.

Ok, 1982:  Firefox or Honkytonk Man?

Easily Honkytonk Man. A much more interesting story and character study.

But, I think a more difficult question would use your same image:

Which poster art from 1982?  Firefox or Honkytonk Man? (And that's the next "This or That".  8)

What I wouldn't give for that poncho... of even a replica. Or just to hold it. Put it on... hang it on a wall.

It's the Poncho by a mile!

I guess Philo isn't coming. :(

I'll keep it moving....

Although I don't remember the final fight scenes enough to really judge, I'm going to give it to Every Which Way But Loose.

We've had Clint Eastwood Film Survivor in the past, and the two top films were Dirty Harry and The Outlaw Josey Wales.  But, what about the main theme songs?

Lalo Schifrin's Theme for Dirty Harry (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fONiS49qB9A)

OR

Jerry Fielding's Theme for The Outlaw Josey Wales (http://ttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=phlKngDrh6o)
Title: Re: This Or That

The theme to Dirty Harry.

A couple of Clint's co-stars...

George Kennedy or Morgan Freeman?  Not necessarily either of the movies they played in, just which you prefer as a costar in general.

(https://sp.yimg.com/xj/th?id=OIP.Mbea66a9a14d147750586883da1a953f9o0&pid=15.1&P=0&w=257&h=173)  (https://sp.yimg.com/xj/th?id=OIP.M0d9e39fd2fad733a3e12187b0055e4b2o0&pid=15.1&P=0&w=289&h=159)

I hope it's okay to add these - for me I prefer the Firefox poster, it was the first Eastwood movie poster I owned.  As for the climactic fights scenes, for me it's Any Which Way You Can.  I love the ending:  "That's it!  We're even!"  "No... I owe ya!"

I'm gonna have to go with Coogan.

You win a contest, you get to pick one of the following props for the prize.  Is it:

Mortimer's gun:

or

Ramon's self-healing suit of armor?

I wonder where these things are now. I have a feeling most of the time, no one even cares after shooting is over, especially for low-budget movies like this.

Definitely Mortimer's gun.

Agreed...but for such different reasons.  However, that doesn't make it any easier to decide.  I could choose

Lee Marvin
(https://i.ytimg.com/vi/X5kq12xf1Uk/maxresdefault.jpg)

...because it's just an absurd scene with a foolish (but I will say kind of fun) song in a not-so-good musical which makes it BAD!

....who is the epitome of BAD which makes him GOOD.

Tough one, Conan!  :knuppel2:

But I choose Angel Eyes because he was the baddest of the BAD.  And, the BEST at it.

Now, I have to figure out two new ones and how to post them.  I'm not set up for screen captures or other means of posting pictures anymore.

I'll figure out something and be back soon.  :P

Well, obviously, I didn't get it!  :knuppel2:  Read something entirely different...made it more difficult.  Now I get it!  That falls under "can't see the trees for the forest" or something like that.   :idiot2: Right?   Okay, going along those lines, I still have to choose:

I haven't seen Blood Work since it came out on DVD so it's hard to remember her acting. But, when you think that Sonia Braga had to overcome a horrible movie in which she was cast as a German...

I think she had more to overcome, and she was far from bad in the role or the worst thing int he movie. So, I'd have to go with...
