Get your Brendan starter pack here for only $119.99.

Your pack includes:

Nascar approved fashion accessories:

His International Best Seller:

If anyone wants to buy this starter pack, you'll need to post your own 4 item starter pack for any other CEWB member (be nice - or in the very least, not mean).

And Brendan, since you've been "startered" you get to post a pack too.

I always wanted a beer can necklace and a year's supply of poutine ... and for only $119.99, that's a steal. Poutine alone goes for at least $50 a shot in Nashville.   ;)

So I will buy Brendan's Starter Pack.

It's an investment, I tell ya. If anyone else wants it, the price is now $199.99.

And since I bought the starter pack, I get to pick another unfortunate soul to build their starter pack.

(Yes, I can do this all day, but it would be more fun if I wasn't the ONLY one.)

THE CONAN STARTER PACK:

This Man Cave, complete with the ultimate home gym:

For energy between reps, a month's supply (30 boxes):

One heavily used AMC Eagle SX/4:

And two tickets to Conan's upcoming Seminar Series:

Retail price for this starter pack:  $19,999.  However, because of the Eagle, we're discounting it to $14,999 just to get it out of here.

That's pretty funny and not too far from the truth.  :)  That Eagle is awesome by the way. and looks almost like my old once except it is more jacked up with different tires.

Let me see if I can come up with something for Christopher.  I wonder what joke will feature prominently...Hmmm.

As tempting as it was to start with a Christopher starter pack, I feel like I've done enough lately to him, and left it for you.  O0

Just wait for it... the KC starter pack will be coming soon.

Don't worry, KC -- first someone has to buy Conan's starter pack, or he or Brendan needs to post one.

I don't want Conan's starter pack!  ;D

Poor Conan. The car isn't THAT bad.

C'mon, doesn't anyone want the man-cave and car?

Price lowered to $12,999

(We take Monopoly money, you know)

I'm trigger happy to get the next starter pack up.

I'd have to pass on my own Starter Pack. I don't approve of that attire mainly because I don't like Bud Light or Busch beer. They're so awful that it's offensive.

YES! Tim gets the Man Cave - the car, the Good n Plenty, and last but not least -- two tickets to Conan's Seminar. Maybe you can meet up with KC. It's in .... Lago (because it's the seminar from hell).

And now you can post a starter pack.

Not sure if I'm as imaginative as Matt but here goes.

THE RICHARD EARL STARTER PACK

For $199 you get a DVD of that unforgettable night when the nation tuned in to see Richard and Holden debate the merits or lack of, the film, Roadhouse!!

You also get one years supply of his favourite dessert. Fried Ice Cream. Yum, I can hear you say.

Also, a truck load of Texan Beeves. You can use them as punching bags or have yourself an old fashion BBQ, Texas Style!!

And if you're lucky enough to be the first to buy this starter pack, we'll throw in the controversial autobiography from Richard which is still banned in 57 countries and for legal reasons we can't show you the book cover but only a photo of who got Richard into more trouble than he was expecting going behind the scenes and the shower curtain of the Dallas Cheergirls.

SK, I really want this starter pack. Not just because I missed the Great Debate, and it looks interesting (I'm with Richard Earl on this one), but because I want to post KC's starter pack.

There's one problem....

The Texas Beeves.... (beeves?)

I'll take them Texan BBQ style if you'll arrange to have someone package them real nice for me with the cellophane wrapper so I don't have to think of them hanging by their feet. If they're ready to grill, and I can't distinguish any body parts, I'll buy the starter pack!

If not, the world will have to wait for KC's starter pack (I'm sure SHE won't mind).

In Rawhide the cattle were sometimes referred to as beeves. Not sure if I spelt it correctly. I was going to say steers but I kept thinking of that quote from Full Metal Jacket about steers and .......

Okay, I get it... it's the plural of beef. Makes sense.   8)

I'll buy the Richard Earl starter pack!  But, I'm pitching in an extra $200 for a butcher to do the ugly work for me.

(Oh, and since I bought it first, I get the cheerleaders!)

That means..... next up on the CEWB Starter Pack block is ....

The KC Starter Pack:

1)  You'll need your own KC to Standard U.S. English Dictionary.

For an additional $399, you can choose to have it bound in a Grolieresque binding in brown calf with red and dark brown leather inlay strapwork with gilt pointillé and tooling on covers and spine. Decorative gilt center ornament on covers. Gilt decorative rolls on turn-ins. Gauffered edges:

2)  For when the Yankees are playing badly:

This is the deluxe model, that has the "Matt Switch".  When in the "on" position, Yankee says "oh yeah, baby" with each punch.

3)  1 box of Crispbreads and 1 serving of White Asparagus soup.

4)  And of course a copy of her book Clint Eastwood: Interviews

(PS, is that a new cover?)

This starter pack is $189.99, and only $588 with the Grolieresque binding.

It's a bargain. Those gauffered edges alone would probably set you back $500 or so.

(PS, is that a new cover?)

It's a new edition (http://www.upress.state.ms.us/books/1501). Where have you been? ;)

A day of eating some Texas smoked brisket followed by fried ice cream while watching the Dallas Cowboy game and then Roadhouse sounds like a great day! Good job SK! I had forgotten about the debate between myself and Holden and now remember the feeling of blood rushing through my skull.
Title: Re: CEWB Member Starter Packs for sale!
Post by: Matt on December 11, 2015, 09:23:14 AM
I've searched the forums for "Roadhouse" and "Road House" and can't find the debate. If it's still around, can someone link me to it? I'd really enjoy reading it. I've watched Road House fairly recently, and I love it for what it is -- great 80's fun. And yeah, in a sense, you could call it a cinema classic, since the 80's are now considered classics.

I think it was in one of the film survivor threads we had.

It comes up in the 2008 film survivor game: http://www.clinteastwood.org/forums/index.php?topic=7222.0

Not a huge debate or anything, but some comments here and there. I browsed through 25+ pages, and there's a whole lot left, so it might even continue.

Yeah, I exaggerated a little. There wasn't much debate it was just Holden's reply to some of the choices of Richard's in the film survivor game.  :)

Found it.

Well, it got me searching through Holden's posts. My favorite Holden take-down though was this one to Dane:

http://www.clinteastwood.org/forums/index.php?topic=4745.msg125605#msg125605

And it was funny for me to see that his love for Bernadette Peters is still going strong.

Hmmm.... the Holden Pike Starter Pack... many thoughts are now brewing.  ???

I've been on the receiving end of a Holden smackdown for liking a bad movie a few times, and I recall coming away thinking "ya know, I still enjoy the movie but he has a point."  We had a big bad one back in the early 2000s regarding the first Matrix movie; before the off-topic section so it cluttered up an Eastwood related thread.

I remember chuckling at Matt and Holden going back and forth over Elf and, this is so obscure and long ago but...I also recall GMAT and Holden arguing over Animal House several times.

Over Elf?  That I don't remember. Are you sure it wasn't an Adam Sandler movie, because those smackdowns I do remember (but even I thought it was funny at the time). If It WAS Elf, maybe it was because he liked it and I didn't. Will Ferrell used to annoy me, but now the movie isn't so bad to me.

Maybe getting smacked down by Holden over bad taste in movies is some kind of board initiation here. I remember a really rough one with Philo that actually didn't go away too quickly.

But, when in the midst of a Holden take-down, never forget...

NEVER FORGET

His own guilty pleasure...

The one even HE got barbs for liking (though everyone was careful not to laugh too hard)...

The one...   The only....

I remember getting my first DVD player and I bought the Man With No Name boxset. I was pretty excited to get those 3 movies, and slowly acquiring the rest. Then at one point someone asked Holden how many DVDs he had, and I think he said he had about 3,000.  That was about 13-14 years ago.  :o

I was hoping no one would notice I posted another without buying a starter pack. Although the KC to Modern English Translation Dictionary would come in handy, I wasn't interested in that soup or the Yankee with the Matt switch (maybe if it was in the "off" position I wouldn't mind).  But, since I could use the updated Interviews book, and I could feed the soup and crisps to the dogs, I'll buy your starter pack (without the Grolieresque binding - I'm still paying off the credit card that I put Richard Earl's starter pack on).

Holden, you're the most wanted around these parts. Stick around. Post in Oscar threads.... or just keep posting any which way you can.

Does anyone want Holden's starter pack? That 8 x 10 of Bernadette Peters is pretty swell. And you gotta admit $12,500 for a 5,000 sq ft climate controlled warehouse is the best deal in real estate (course we don't really know where exactly it's located, but still).

I may have priced it out of everyone's budgets. It was mainly due to the lunch with Sir Paul. So I talked to Paul, and he said he'd donate the lunch. So I can lower the price of the starter kit to..... $149.99! Who wants it?

If no one else wants the Schofield Kid starter pack, I do! Lunch with Sir Paul? That right there is easily worth the $149.99.  The Potty Putter is back up for grabs for $7.99 if anyone wants it.

Whose starter pack should we do next?  :D

Man, the Taylor Swift photo just ain't right! ;D

(Is that a legit photo of her, because she would have only been, like, five at the time)

What's the matter? Is she already too old for you? I found one from 1993 too... (it's even a video (http://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/news/taylor-swift-shares-adorable-throwback-christmas-video-20132412)).

But, apparently it was her. It was from Seventeen magazine, but seems to be offline now. The photo caption read:

Quote
Taylor Swift—1994 back when she was just a regular elementary schooler in rural Pennsylvania. Even though she looks like a regular kid, Taylor was already writing songs and singing at local festivals.

Hilary saw this thread (she still semi-stalks Christopher).

She sent me a jpeg of this poster, which she said she tried sending a few times to Christopher, but it kept coming back "Return To Sender".

I told her to send it to me! I'd add it to the Starter Pack as a Bonus to the first buyer!

Doesn't anyone want this starter pack? I can't buy this one... thanks to looking for stuff to harass Christopher with on the board, my ISP is filled with search terms like "pretty young blonde girls" "hilary duff" "Taylor Swift as a young girl", and other things that could get me locked up if I got in trouble with the FBI. So, having this starter pack in the house would definitely be dangerous for me.

Anyone else who wants this?

And Christopher, since you've been Startered, you can always do your own pack for someone!

I'll take it. Surely I can get my money back through ebay or gumtree?

# 9 of his 27 room Elvis collection
  ;D ;D ;D

I have to tell ya, I got a great kick out of this when I saw it Friday.  When I first came across it, I didn't know what to expect but a smile grew upon my face the more I read and saw.  I have to thank you for this, it gave me a good chuckle.

I'm sorry I didn't reply sooner.  It was Friday morning when I read it and soon after the work day kept me occupied until quitting time.

I would love to do the same but honestly not sure I could pull it off as effectively.  I'd be open to some pointers, though.

Wow, really, thanks again, this made my day Friday and again today revisiting it!   :)

I'm glad it could be taken in the light-hearted way it was meant. We have to be able to laugh at ourselves and each other. Which is why I reminded everyone.... you can always get me back if anyone thinks I'm being unkind.

(The #9 of the 27 room collection was because no matter how hard I looked, I couldnt' find an Elvis collection BIG enough to be YOUR collection. I finally had to settle for this one, and explain it was just a small part of the total amount of Elvis collectibles in your home!)
