It's already one month since this season began! But there are not yet interesting thing for KC? ???
It has happened a lot of interesting for me! :) This season, I focus on in particular Kenta Maeda of the Dodgers and the record of Ichiro!! ;)
Also Iwakuma and Aoki of Mariners and Uehara of Boston!! Everyone makes a good play!! Especially Maeda of Dodgers worth special mention!! 8)
He is a real professional baseball player like Ichiro!! Only I hope to Maeda that he will not injured......!!

In addition, a total of stolen bases record of Japan and the United States of Ichiro will be 700th with only one more!! Cool!! 8)
Ganbare Ichiro!! :)
" First meeting with Ichiro! Maeda deeply impressed "had been longing since I was a child."!!
Kenta Maeda nervously waited for just the right moment during the Miami Marlinswarm-ups, sprinted across the Dodger Stadiumdiamond and introduced himself to Ichiro Suzuki, respectfully bowing to the countryman he had idolized since he was a kid.
The scene before the Marlins-Los Angeles Dodgers series opener presented quite a turnabout. This season it has been the hitters bowing to Maeda.
“I never imagined I would be able to face him, a player I looked up to since I was a child and I’m so happy to be able to face him,” Maeda said. “I was a little nervous before meeting him (four days earlier), but he smiled and put me at ease. As far as striking him out (in his first at-bat), the results don’t matter as much as our confrontation, which was a treasure for me''

Yes, very surprising. Yankees not playing well or are they leaving their run a little longer than usual?
-
They were doing very poorly, but things have perked up in the last couple of weeks. :)
It's nice to see that Ichiro is still playing well. He's only 44 hits from joining the 3,000 hit club in MLB now!

http://m.marlins.mlb.com/news/article/179456806/christian-yelich-scratched-with-back-spasms?game_pk=447515
Super-sub Ichiro: It wasn't clear until batting practice that Ichiro was going to make his first start since May 8. When Christian Yelich was scratched due to back spasms, Ichiro began warming up in left field. Ichiro singled and scored the tying run in the fifth inning on Prado's RBI hit. With 2,953 hits, Ichiro is 46 shy of 3,000. He enjoyed his first four-hit game since Aug. 18, 2015 at Milwaukee.

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
Ichiro remains a hit: No Christian Yelich in left field, no problem for the Marlins. Ichiro, starting his third straight game because of Yelich's back spasms, collected three hits off Moore and four hits on the night. In the past three games, Ichiro has 10 hits, including a pair of four-hit games. Ichiro now has 2,960 career hits, leaving him 40 shy of 3,000, and is closing in on Sam Crawford (2,964) for 31st place all time. The Marlins actually used Yelich as a decoy and announced him as a pinch-hitter in the eighth inning, but once Tampa Bay brought in lefty Enny Romero, Yelich was replaced by Gillespie.
-
Again, amazing Ichiro!! O0
MIAMI -- Whether it's at the plate or in the field, 42-year-old Marlins outfielder Ichiro Suzukicontinues to always be a factor. Thursday night's 4-3 12-inning win over the Pirates was certainly no exception.
With his two-hit night -- a third-inning single and a run scored, and a fourth-inning double -- Ichiro is up to 2,965 career hits, and is 22 away from tying Sam Rice (2,987) for 30th place on Major League Baseball's all-time list. Ichiro is also just 35 away from the 3,000-hit milestone.
If that weren't enough, Ichiro recorded his 501st career stolen base, swiping second in the seventh inning after reaching on an error.
"Typical Ichiro; couple of hits, making plays in the outfield, the diving play," manager Don Mattingly said. "It was a really good night for him. Obviously a lot of good things from [Ichiro], including getting on base in that last inning to start that [game-winning rally]."

I made that last picture a little smaller, Higashimori! :)
-
I think Ichiro could play at least one more year. Then next stop Cooperstown induction into hall of fame. Fantastic all around baseball player. Had he played his entire career in mlb he probably would have passed rose on the all time hits list. Not sure how many hits he got in Japan. And I know that there's no way for sure to know that. But I think Japan has some very talented baseball players. Not sure how comparable they are to mlb players. But I think they do have quite a bit of talent over there.

" CELEBRATING THE SINGULARITY OF ICHIRO "
At some point in the next week or two, Ichiro Suzuki will collect his 3,000th major league hit and become the 30th player ever to reach that milestone. The Marlins begin a lengthy homestand on Friday, July 22, making that 10-game stretch the probable date range for the 42-year-old Japanese marvel to achieve his goal.

It would be tonight? ! Ganbare~, Ich!! :)

OFFICIAL: Ichiro is scheduled to start tonight, two hits from 3,000.

" 2-9-9-8, Ichiro is really great; Go, Fish "
" Veteran notches No. 2,998 with pinch-hit double Thursday "
Ichiro is now just two away from the 3,000-hit milestone.
The Marlins announced after the game that Ichiro would be in Friday's starting lineup, giving him a good shot to make history at home. Fans can watch live look-ins at his plate appearances on MLB.com and with the At Bat app.
"I think everyone's excited to see this happen," Marlins manager Don Mattingly said. "That's one of the things that's been fun to watch. It's been fun to watch him."
Even Jose Fernandez, who was icing his arm in the clubhouse after a five-inning start, joined in on the fun like the rest of the crowd.
"We were rooting," he said. "I was with [Wei-Yin] Chen inside here. We were yelling. We were jumping and yelling inside the clubhouse."
Ichiro is also just two hits shy from becoming the 30th player in Major League history to reach 3,000 hits and tying Roberto Clemente on the all-time hit list.
Ichiro's teammates, including Fernandez, have enjoyed being a part of his historic chase.
"It's just an honor," Fernandez said. "It's just a privilege to be a part of the history that he's making. To me, he's amazing. I have no words to put how I feel about him and how much I admire him as a baseball player."
The double was Ichiro's 350th of his career and just another late-and-close hit for him. The 42-year-old is hitting .335 this season but 15-for-31 (.484) in late-and-close situations.
"He's been the guy we can rely on all season long," Marlins catcher J.T. Realmuto said. "Late in the game when we need a big hit, he's seemed to come through eight out of 10 times. That's almost what it feels like."

" Ichi-throw: No hits, but outfielder gets assist "
MIAMI -- Fans may have wanted to see Ichiro Suzuki make history with his bat in the Marlins' 11-6 loss to the Cardinals on Friday night at Marlins Park, but he instead showed off his arm.
Ichiro, who went 0-for-4 and still needs two hits to become the 30th player in Major League history to reach 3,000 career hits, drifted down the left-field line with one out in the fourth and threw a laser home to nail Kolten Wong at the plate on what would've been a sacrifice fly. The assist held St. Louis to a 3-1 lead at the time.
Per Statcast™, the 42-year-old's throw topped out at 91.6 mph and traveled a distance of 239 feet. It was his second-hardest throw from the outfield this season.

Ichiro is one of the greatest pure hitters ever to play the game. He should get it real soon. Very happy about the players the Rangers got. Carlos Beltran and Jonathan Lucroy. We defenately have the hitting for sure. And we've got two ace pitchers in Hamels and Darvish. Despite Darvishs poor outing tonight. When Darvish is at his best he's virtually un hittable. As long as he stays healthy he will put us in position to win every game he pitches. We've got a good closer and acquired another closer from Milwaukee Jeffress who will be a good set up man. Only question is middle relievers. But I'm excited about the players we got.
-
I hope Beltran will make you very happy, Rawhide7! He certainly has been a great Yankee these last three years. We were sorry to lose him.
-
Thanks KC. Yeah we love Beltran. He's defenately a great player. And he seems like a great guy too. He's the type of player that can make a difference for a team like the Rangers who are on the out skirts of possibly making it to the World Series. It would be nice for us to finally win at least won championship. And I think getting him and Lucroy puts us in the position to maybe finally win won. I also would like to see the Cubs win one as well. Just not against us though. I think the Yankees are smart getting a bunch of very talented young players. There's a reason why y'all have won so many World Series. Your front office knows how to get the right pieces. After losing jeter watching the Yankees hasn't been the same for me. The Yankees have always been a winning team. Y'alls bad years usually don't last very long. I have a strong feeling the Yankees are going to be very very good again in the next he or so.

Apparently he's turned himself into Toronto police. He's been charged with mischief.
On a better note the Jays open the playoffs with a bang, winning 10-1. :knuppel2: O0

Donaldson going balls to the wall to win it! That was amazing.

Congrats to the Jays, and good luck to them in the ALCS! But I'm sorry for Richard Earl and any other Texas Ranger fans on the Board ... and for Carlos Beltran, who was a favorite of mine as a Yankee, and now won't advance this postseason.
-
That ump hates the Blue Jays.
-
*sigh* ah, well. Always next year, I guess.
-
Sorry, Brendan. Though, I have to admit I was rooting for Cleveland, given the bad blood there's been between the Blue Jays and the Yankees in recent years. And also because I love Andrew Miller ... it hurt like pulling teeth that the Yankees had to trade him last summer.
If the Cubs make it to the World Series, we'll see a matchup of two ex-Yankee closers ... Miller and Aroldis Chapman.
-
Andrew Miller is awesome. I like Napoli and Miller. Can't stand Bautista. I actually liked the blu-jays back in the day of joe carter, Roberto Alomar, tony Fernandez, etc. But not this current team.
-
Congratulations to the Chicago Cubs, the 2016 National League champions! They will play in the World Series for the first time since 1945 ... and have a chance to win their first since 1908!

I've been rooting for Cleveland (I guess since I'm in the same state and all), but with Chicago's win last night pushing it to a game 7, I think they might pull off the win tonight. We shall see. :knuppel2:

I wish it would go extra innings! I don't know who to root for. Whichever team has the ex-Yankee pitcher in the game at a given time, I guess.

You may just get your wish. All tied up going into the 9th.

Careful what you wish for, KC. Seems like it's going that way.

So... What's happening here? Quite the ninth inning so far.

Woah.... leading run on 3rd.

Ugh.... struck out on a foul bunt. 2 outs.

Two tears in a bucket, motherf@#kit.
I hate the bunt with 1 out and a man on 3rd. Why not try to hit it to the outfield?

One of the commentators for the Canadian sports channel broadcast is so over the top any time something happens. It's fun to listen to him.

You got your wish, KC.

One more, Edwards!

Okay, two down! One to go.

One more, Edwards!
And he doesn't get it! Another pitching change, now a one-run game!

And it's a one run game.

Cubs win!!!!
Best non-Yankee game ever. Never mind World Series!
-
Yup, it was amazing! Congrats to the Cubs (finally)!
-
And Aroldis Chapman, who was reportedly crying after giving up the tying runs ... hung on, pitched another inning ... and is the winner!
Good luck in trying to re-sign him this offseason, Yankees!

I fell asleep before the final out :( . Then I woke up as they were celebrating. Congrats to the Chicago Cubs!
And SK had a good question... I wonder what some of the longest droughts are? I know Cleveland takes the MLB mantle now and the Toronto Maple Leafs hold the NHL Stanley Cup mantle at around 50 years or so, I believe.

Congratulations to the Chicago Cubs. They won the World Series, their first championship since 1908, and ended the longest title drought in American professional sports, 108 years. Their World Series win now gives the Arizona Cardinals [NFL] the longest championship drought in professional sports.
It's a one year longer drought than the Cleveland Indians.
