Title: FYI for KC: Harold and Lillian: A Hollywood Love Story (2015)
Post by: Dan Dassow on September 09, 2020, 10:13:11 AM
KC,

I hope that you are still gainfully employed as a librarian for New York City. I saw this very charming documentary this weekend that I believe that you and other people on this forum would enjoy:  Harold and Lillian: A Hollywood Love Story (2015) (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4683668/). The film is available for streaming on Netflix.

Harold Michelson (https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0585118/) was an illustrator, story board artist and production design for films such as The Ten Commandments, Cleopatra and The Birds. Lillian Michelson (https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0585125/) married Harold in 1947. She was the research librarian for multiple studios and maintained (and eventually owned) a film research library that was housed at multiple locations. She provided significant research for The Birds, Rosemary's Baby and Fiddler on the Roof.

Quote
Harold and Lillian eloped to Hollywood in 1947, where they became the film industry's secret weapons. Nobody talked about them, but everybody wanted them. Theirs is the greatest story never told-until now.

Thank you, Dan Dassow! This looks lovely. The film is also available on Amazon Prime Video.

It's great to hear from you again. I am indeed still working for The New York Public Library, and I hope you are well and doing what you like best. We'd be happy to have you posting here more often!
