We'd like to do a Movie Night some time this month, probably on a Saturday, since that seems to be easier for our European members. Please vote for which of the above movies you'd like to see, and post in this thread to tell us what day you'd prefer.
Available Saturdays are July 14, July 21 and July 28. (This coming Saturday would probably be cutting it too close.)
I hope a lot of you can make it!
Remember Philo's Every Which Way But Loose contest (http://www.clinteastwood.org/forums/index.php?topic=6799.0)—not to unduly influence the vote, but if we pick that one, it might give you some inspiration! 8)
I've set up the poll so you can change your vote if you change your mind, but only one vote per customer, please! :)
-
I'd love to see a more light-hearted movie this time around and so I've voted for Every Which Way But Loose!
Although I was tempted to choose The Enforcer for a while! I'm OK on any of those Saturday nights so I'll just go with the concensus on that.
-
July 14 and 28 are the best for me with no golf scheduled.
I voted for Every Which Way But Loose :)
-
So far it's a landslide, but only three votes!
Come on everyone, step up and vote, don't be shy! :)
-
I'm waiting to see which movie is coming out on top. :D
-
I'm feeling sorry that my next few Saturday's may rule me out of attending.
I have not voted yet on account of this.
Philo .
-
14th is fine for me but I am working on the 18th.

That's too bad, Philo, especially since "your" movie is leading in the poll. Maybe we could make it August 4, would you be available then?
14th is fine for me but I am working on the 18th.
Lin, did you mean to say the 28th? ???
-
I voted Every Which Way But Loose. 14th is out for me, I´m out of town. But all the others are fine at this moment. :)
-
Lin, did you mean to say the 28th? ???
Yes
-
Any weekend except the 21st is good for me.
-
Well, I'm the only one that voted for Space Cowboys, so far. But, I might not even get to stop in and watch anyway. I will keep checking back to see what date it decided on and let you know if I can attend. Take care!
-
So, we have one person who can't make the 14th, one can't make the 21st, and one can't make the 28th. And Philo may not be able to make any of the Saturdays (we know which movie he'd vote for if he could join us).
Every Which Way but Loose is leading, five votes to one for The Enforcer and one for Space Cowboys.
We'd like to have at least five people who can and want to attend this ... If a Saturday in July is going to be this difficult, maybe we should move into August, or should we switch back to Sunday night? ???
-
If you want to wait until August that is OK but I can't make Saturday or Sunday Aug 4 & 5.
-
I voted for The Gauntlet.
I don't always know in advance when I'm going to be working -they can call me in the morning if they need me in the afternoon. So far, the 14th and the 28th work for me -I'm supposed to be working on the 21st.
-
I voted for The Enforcer, btw. But any movie will do. Sunday would be ok, except the 22nd. That whole weekend is booked up for me.
-
Thanks KC,
A Sunday could be better for me.
I will be really sad if I have to miss Every which way.
I was planning to have the original early draft of the screenplay in front of me and hoped to add a brief word about scenes that were dropped and where they would have been. :'(
Will let you know as soon as I know.

Hi. I came back to say that 14th and 15th are both fine for me after all.. :) Now I'm leaving. A trailer truck will take me to my destination. No, I'm not hitch-hiking.. :D My brother drives a truck and his ex-co-worker is going where I'm going too. So, a free ride. ;)
-
That would be great if you could join us satu. :)
-
Well, since Every Which Way but Loose is leading in the poll, I think we should wait to hear when Philo is available before we decide on a date. It would be a pity to do it without him!

Arrggh!! :( The pressure of holding things up.
I have not really thought it through but feel I could offer a few things in terms of info on this film.
Will try and sort this in the next few days.

Hi All,
Sunday the 22nd is good for me ..... but what about the rest of you ??? :-\
Also what time UK would it start?
Hope this will all come together.
Philo .
-
22 July is fine with me. We have usually started at 10 but the last time we started at 9. pm in the UK.
-
I'm pretty sure that date will work with me also.

That should be fine.

22nd is fine with me as well. 8)
-
It looks like we're moving towards a consensus here! :)
-
Thank you all for choosing a Sunday. I am there. :)
-
I have now made my vote. :)
Philo .
-
Well, it's Every Which Way but Loose by a landslide (seven votes to four for everything else) ... and it looks like we're agreed on Sunday, July 22 at 4 PM U.S. Eastern time (9 PM in the U.K.) I'll start a thread for it soon so it can be linked to the calendar. :)
Philo, would you consider extending your contest for a week, so people could get inspired by this event? :)

That seems like a very good idea.
Closing date will be midnight (wherever you live) Sunday/Monday after the movie.
I have had a great response but as I have yet to really study the suggestions there is no clear leader and plenty of scope for new additions.
Watching the movie will help.

So we're using the same moved up an hour time as on the last one?
-
Looks that way, Fhil ... the earlier time is better for the Europeans among us. :)

It's also better for me. :D
-
Sunday 22 July at 9.0 pm is perfect for me. :)
-
I have to work on Sunday, but that won't be the problem. The problem is I also have to work on Monday. :-\ I'll have to think about this. ::)
-
Sweet, that's a very good time for me. O0 Hopefully I will be at my mum's that night, so I can watch it on the tv and type on the computer, instead of trying to switch between both on the laptop. I'll order the DVD and get it sent home.
It's ages since I watched this film, and it'll be a great way to watch with you guys, and be inspired for the contest.
-
Satu, I'm sorry, again, it's difficult to find a time that's good for everyone. :( Maybe you could watch a bit at the beginning?
Lilly, it will be great to have you join us! :)
-
Looks like we're going to have another great roll up this month. 8)
Great to see Lilly and Richard will be joining us too. O0
-
Looks like I'll be missing this one. Hope you all have a good time. :)
-
Hope to see you next time, Alcatraz! :)
-

Always the same problem. ::)
But I could watch it a bit. And I will. If I find the movie. It shouldn't be that hard to find. My Monday shift won't even start until noon, maybe I could watch the whole movie. ::) Is it going to be 11pm (Finland) again?
-
Yup, sorry it's so late. We wanted to do this one on a Saturday, but there wasn't a date available that everyone who wanted to see this movie could make.
-
I was supposed to be working on Monday, but there's been a change of plans, so I'll be there on Sunday 8)
Lilly, Richard, Fhil ... so glad you'll be able to join us guys O0 Alcy, hope we'll see you next time, and -satu- hope you'll be able to find the film!
An EWW movie night wouldn't be the same without you, Philo ;)
-
Just a quick question. I'm sure I could find it out in the FAQ section here but I thought I'd ask one of you. Does everyone get to vote for movie night every week? It looks like at some point the voting gets shut down. Is this true?

Thanks AB,
I will be there and I will be spending most of Saturday reading through various versions of the screenplay to include some detail of lost and dropped scenes as we go.

There is usually a poll with three films, or sometimes if we all agree on one film we don't bother with the poll, which happened with Pale Rider I think earlier this year.
The voting is only done once a month, everyone can vote and once it becomes clear what the winner will be,it is decided and then comes the hard part.Finding a date which suits almost everyone.

Hi WeAllGotItCominKid
Hope to see you there for the movie night! The more the merrier!
-
Has someone worked out the break times during Every Which Way?
-
I'm going to try to do that tonight ... got a lot of baseball this weekend! :o
-

I second that AB O0
-
Sorry guys! Could have been there but the damn Potter made me forget.. :-[ :-[ :-\ Next time I'll be there! O0
-
I'll be there next time myself! I was busy that day. :(
-
Sorry I missed it, I bet it was a good night. Change of timings meant I was still down south on Sunday, so didn't make it on, but I will be enjoying reading the thread later. I did get the dvd though, can't believe it's 5 years since I last saw it!
-
My vote goes to The Gauntlet. One of the best and most fun Eastwood movies.
-
Paul Muni, you're a bit late for our July Movie Night poll. We ended up watching Every Which Way but Loose.
We'll probably include The Gauntlet in a future Movie Night poll, so watch for it! :)
