Obviously David Carradine will always be best remembered for those iconic action-oriented roles, but for me his best performance by far is as Woody Guthrie in Hal Ashby's Bound for Glory (1976) [trailer HERE (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UTypzOJfuAY)]. It's also great to see him with his brothers in Walter Hill's The Long Riders (1980) [trailer HERE (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ye7xnbnfKBM)].

I will always remember him in "Kung Fu" series, I used to watch every Saturday on French tv in the 70's, Kwai Chang Caine "Petit Scarabée".

This is sad news. He will be remembered for his role in the Kill Bill and the Kung Fu movies. however I remember him in Bound for Glory. Not really being a fan of the Kungo Fu style of movies I have only seen a couple of his films.

I remember watching Kung Fu on tv when I was a kid and liked it. I got a kick out of the way he talked. I can't remember ever seeing The Long Riders, so I'll have to check it out. Other than that, I haven't seen anything else with him in it that I can remember until the Kill Bill movies came along. I thought he did well in those. I thought the first Kill Bill was great, but didn't like the sequel.
Wow, I just learned from IMDB that he's got 6 movies in post- and 1 in pre-production!

After scanning IMDB, I did recently see High Noon, Part II: The Return of Will Kane and that was pretty bad. Lone Wolf McQuade wasn't too good but I liked Americana.

Like Sylvie, my brother and I watched Kung Fu growing up. I'm fairly certain it was on on a Saturday down here too. I bought the first two seasons on DVD in the past couple of years and have enjoyed watching those again.
I love The Long Riders with the cast of the set of brothers, and one of the best shootouts in a western I've ever seen. Especially love that scene during the shootout where they ride their horses through the saloon windows.
Very sad news indeed. Such a great acting family.

I liked Carradine but was never a huge fan. As a martial art devotee I always held a grudge that Carradine took the Kung Fu role away from the guy that developed it, Bruce Lee. Surely one of the biggest scandels in tv land.
The Long Riders is a good film but my favourite Carradine performance is from Q The Winged Serpent. A great slice of Lary Cohen nonsense featuring an even better performance from Michael Moriarty. It seems Carradine was destined to B movie land untill Kill Bill gave him a boost.
It's a sad end to a long career and I hope the circumstances surrounding his death don't overshadow his life.
I met him briefly a few years back at a film event. I was there to meet someone else ( Linda Blair as I'm a huge fan of The Exorcist ) but I walked with Carradine on the way to the cafe and told him how much I liked Q. He smiled and said he had great fun making it . I think I'll watch it tonight.

I wonder who was actually behind Carradine's winning the Kung Fu series over Bruce Lee......probably uptight studio executives who weren't ready to put an Asian in a starring role. Too bad, their loss but our gain because Carradine did very well with it.
This controversy surrounding Carradine's death reminds me of the scandal involving the death of Bob Crane. Regardless of the outcome, Carradine was a fine actor, indeed. He may not be one of the "greats", but he will be remembered fondly, I'm sure. Personally, I was glad to see him in the Kill Bill movies, seemed like he'd been out of action for a while and even though I disliked Vol.2, I enjoyed seeing Carradine in them.
