General Discussion / Re: The Truck in Bridges of Madison County
« on: August 28, 2018, 01:27:35 AM »
I'm sorry to disagree, but it's actually a 1961 Chevrolet truck that has been modified to make it appear like a GMC. If you watch the scene where Robert and Francesca are in the truck together for the first time, you can easily see the dashboard. The double arch dashboard was never in GMC trucks; it was exclusive to 1960 through 1963 Chevrolet trucks. The hood, grille and tailgate were all interchangeable between the Chevrolet and GMC models, so Clint may have preferred the look of the GMC and had the Chevrolet modified. Changing the items I mentioned can be accomplished in about two hours with common hand tools, while changing out a dashboard is multi-day operation that requires serious cutting and welding. I'm certain it's a Chevrolet.
