Eastwood News / Clint and the "white" Oscars
« on: January 24, 2016, 02:14:21 AM »
Clint making good sense over the "white" Oscars story, how they have to be earned and not just handed out.

Must be really dreadful for Will Smith and his "wife" to be sitting in their mansion with millions in the bank bemoaning the fact they want to be given an award, as if the paycheques aren't enough. #realitycheck

What with that reality tv show and now this is he going senile? Seriously, he's getting so old now it's just sad to see him rambling like that.

Some funny stuff on Twitter #eastwooding

Ken Regan was the on set photographer for the movie and brought out a big hardcover book of his photos, on and off set.

General Discussion / Re: Best Eastwood biography?

There's an interesting one by Patrick McGilligan called "Clint", some will say it is inaccurate in some areas but it is more independent than Schickels book. I've just read Paul Nelson's "Lost Conversations" based on a series of interviews with Clint in the early 80's which gives a good insight into his films in the Don Siegel/Sondra Locke era.

Fingers crossed, better than that impending Star Is Born project.

Died on 23/01/11....Clint used to train with him when he was getting fit for his movies.

I read about this and think City Heat..dunno why.

I don't think this will happen with Clint as Director, he'll be 82 going on 83, as much as I like his directorial style it just doesn't fit.

I watched the Coen's  True Grit again tonight...wish to God Clint had played Rooster...now THAT would have been a great final western!
