Hmmm...  Well, tomatoes only grow about 2-3' high on average.   Does your property owner give you access to the roof ??  Surely, there must be community urban gardens in New York City.  In Central Park maybe ?  In any case, I'll keep you guys posted on the Rowdy Red in my Dad's garden...   ;)

Well KC & Matt -- You could probably grow a tomato in a NY City apt. with a sunlamp or near a window.   Another option would be a nearby urban/ rooftop community garden...   Tomatoes are among the easiest crops to grow anywhere.  I once spent a summer working at a sewage treatment plant and they would spread the processed/sterilized 'sludge' around the plant as landscape fertilizer.  We would often see tomatoes sprouting from this dried sludge/fertilizer.  The seeds can survive the human digestive system and even later sewage treatment.

In truth, I would be absolutely shocked if you could not grow a tomato inside your home...   8)

Hello again gang.  Long time no post...   I don't know if anyone has ever mentioned this on the board before, but Clint happens to have his own tomato varietal, aptly named Clint Eastwood Rowdy Red.  I found this out the other day when my 'sis, who is a member of the University of California Master Gardener's Program, brought one by my dad's house and planted it in his backyard, along with some other heirloom varietals.  Here's some more info. on the species and where to order seeds:

So, now you know what type of tomato to put on your BLT or add to a pot of spaghetti ...   ;) 8)

Well, if you search the internet under 'Clint Eastwood Death/Dead', you'll find that there was, in fact, a 'false news story' that circulated last week that Clint had passed away.  The 'obituary' blurbs looked pretty authentic.  I have this vision of Clint being invited to appear on one of those late night shows, Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, etc.   He goes on stage, he sits down, and they start with,

Jimmy Kimmel:    There was a rumor going around last week that you had died ...

Clint:                   :coolsmiley:, Yeah, well, it's good to know I'm still alive ...

I think someone should have used a fact-checker on that one ...    ;)

Good to keep up with current events, but it's even better to know that Clint is STILL ALIVE !!!    O0

P.S.   The 'Dirty Harry Trestle Display' is no longer in the lobby of the Lark Theater.  They don't want it anymore.  It appears I'll have to find a new home for it, maybe at the Marin Brewing Company  --more or less the site where Dirty Harry ended ...   8)

P.P.S.    It's good to be back ...   ;)

You know,  why not combine the best of both worlds  ? ...

DH6: "Gemini"  -   Harry Callahan, in retirement for 15 years now (and still living in S.F.) is being framed for a series of grisly, unsolved murders in the city by a killer named "Gemini" who uses the exact same MO as Scorpio...  or is he ?

Harry's sanity, now crumbling under the weight of post-traumatic stress disorder from years of having witnessed violence and death on the force, goes looking for the killer ...

But is the killer really his alter-ego ?

The audience is left to wonder,  right up to the end ...   8)

Well, here are the results:    http://www.aintitcool.com/node/40728

No cigar here  --again.  >:(  Doesn't look like Walt won either...

I think the best ideas from this lot are the ones where Harry is a suspect in a string of serial murders in retirement...  as well the idea of having a "twin" copycat killer named 'Gemini', repeating Scorpio's M.O.  --35 years later.

Ah yes...  I was looking under 'contests' when I logged on to their site...  Temporary tunnel vision here... Didn't see the 'news' banner.

Hello again KC...  This is that psychopathic serial killer from DH1 speaking...  I entered the little 'ditty' that I wrote here back in '99-'00...  What the hell.  Maybe it's worth a signed CD, if not a film production deal...    :P ^-^

Walt,  where is the announcement for this contest at Ain't It Cool  ?  I can't seem to find it anywhere...

...Yes, well the key word in the Filmstew analysis is "may"...  What we have here is more unfounded speculation.  A good detective (like Dirty Harry) bases his conclusions on hard evidence --something that is not to be found in support of this theory anywhere.

That said, I wonder if there is any chance Changeling could in fact be the last installment in the DH series  :D   ;)   Just kidding.

I wonder if Clint's gotten the news yet that he'll be doing a final Dirty Harry...

If not, maybe someone should contact him and let him know --seeing that he'll be starring in it and everything...   ;) 8)

P.S.  There you have it.  The IMDb website is now reporting that Gran Torino is both plots:  A next-in-series DH and the story of a retired Korean war vet who befriends an Hmong immigrant...

The IMDb site has a few things added.    Apparently, they update these sites every few days/weeks.  The "last updated" is still March 18, however.  I'd still like to know why they would print such a falsehood (it follows the DH series) if it hadn't been verified.  I recently sent in a correction to another actor's IMDb site that has not been updated.  It seems the published info. at IMDb can be grossly inaccurate.   I think they need to get their dogsh*t together over there...  8)

P.S.  Is Grand Rapids, Michigan hilly ?

Just got this off the IMDb Gran Torino board...

"Warner Brothers has said that there will be an official announcement regarding the
plot of the film sometime first week in may.  So we dont have much longer to wait."

     I guess we'll know soon enough...   ;)
