Bob Dylan! If I could meet Clint AND Bob I'd be a happy girl  ;)

2
He did film Absolute Power in the Baltimore area, in 1996. Where were you? ;)

Oh man, I was only 15, and not yet a Clint fan. I missed my chance!

I read a good interview with Hugh Laurie the star of House a few years ago..
(sorry, can't remember the mag)
where he talked about being a big Clint Eastwood fan and how much he admired him as an actor, which
I thought was nice coming from another actor..

Yes, you're correct--In fact, Hugh Laurie based his character house on Dirty Harry.

"I do, in my own feeble way, see an element of Dirty Harry in House... In some way, everyone is trying to mimic, consciously or not, that great 70s archetype Dirty Harry - the lone, righteous man."

No wonder I like Hugh Laurie and House so much!

Why can't Clint ever film in Baltimore? These lucky people who get to meet him (or Gus  :D ) ::sigh::

Orioles fan here... Just holding out hope I can see them be a winning team at some point in my lifetime, since they certainly have no shot in the foreseeable future due to our rotten owner  :-\.  My favorite past players are Brooks Robinson (awesome guy) and Cal Ripken, favorite current is our nick markakis. Go O's!...

I love Magnum Force! It's my hubby's favorite of all of them. I think it's my favorite behind the original.

This is nearly impossible, but I'm going with Steve McQueen. So cool, in a completely different kind of way.

General Discussion / Re: What is your favorite Eastwood movie ending?

The end of For A Few Dollars more is pretty great, with him carrying all the bodies off into the sunset.

And right before that when he's counting his "bounty" and realizes he's short one, then turns and shoots him, and Col. Mortimer asks "Any trouble boy?", and Manco says " No, old man. Thought I was having trouble with my adding. It's all right now."

Love it.

Off-Topic Discussion / Re: What was the last western you watched?
« on: January 31, 2012, 08:16:19 PM »
I've got this one on my DVR to watch soon. I saw Lee Van Cleef is in it and he's as cool as they come.

"Joe Dakota"(1957)
                     -Jock Mahoney

Plot: IMDB
A stranger rides into town and says he is looking for a local Indian. Told he left town, the truth everyone has been hiding comes out including the stranger's true identity.

Phantom's Review: Standard, but entertaining "B" movie. While the plot is nothing out of the ordinary, the film still has some good action, acting and a few nice light hearted moments.  Star Jock Mahoney was a good leading man in these kind of films. Not a classic, but worth watching.

Running is my #1, sometimes I play old-school games on my gameboy like Tetris, and lately I pour a glass of wine and make my way through my new Rawhide DVD  :)

Would you consider Coogan's Bluff a western? If not, that's my favorite non-western/non-dirty Harry (although it's kinda a mix of both In a way  :)

Otherwise, I might have to go with The Eiger Sanction, but then again, there's not many I don't like.

Good to know KC, I can handle inaccurate movie descriptions, since that's one thing I know fairly well (although I'm sure it's annoying). I'd really like to know a little more about the man himself and it's always fascinating to read about the path the stars take to become who they are.

Thanks! That's very helpful. That's a huge list there, so it's nice to know which one the fans prefer.

Thanks!!
