Clintus, an avatar is the little picture that most of us have under our user names.  If you'd like to use one, you can right click on any of the pictures in this thread, select "properties", then highlight the entire URL (web address), go into your profile (enter your password) and then go to the section on avatars. You can check the box that says "I have my own pic", and click on the empty field there, right click your mouse and hit "paste". The URL will go in the field, and you can exit out of your profile and have a picture under your user name as well.
Matt, you're a real star......thanks for that. I will get my profile updated shortly. Even I can understand how to do this. Good, man, and..........thanks.

Sure thing Clintus!

These are edited extracts I have copied out, but I have included most of the text from the articles. I thought I might be able to find the articles online but Muscle & Fitness don't appear to put their back issues on the net.

Hope you find this interesting...
Thanks for getting this article posted so quickly.....I really appreciate you taking the time to do this. It's really good and I enjoyed reading it. I owe you!!!

Thanks for that Amir, I hadn't seen that before, though back when I was researching for my Clint dissertation, I was lucky enough to be sent old copies of magazines like 'Muscle & Fitness' from the 80s and 90s with Clint on the cover, which had interesting articles about his health and exercise regime. I think I still have them if anyone wants me to post some extracts, otherwise I'll leave the honours up to mgk as they were her magazines, copies of which she kindly sent to me :)

The past couple of months I have embarked on a real fitness routine and been going jogging every couple of nights. I have to say that part of my inspiration to do this has come from Clint :) I was also inspired to do it as I have a friend who had been training for the London marathon for the past 10 months. I thought I could always count on him to be the lazy, unfit, booze-addled one in our circle of friends, but since he's been putting me to shame this past year or so, I felt I had to do something about it...  ;)
Hi, Allycat,
Could you please post the extracts from Muscle & Fitness you refer to? I'd be really interested in those>

Excuse me for being real dumb - I am a "newbie" after all but what is an avatar and what can I do with them. For those who clearly know..please take pity on a Rookie Scottish Guy!!!!

Well, I know that Clint's healthier than me and I'm 54 years his junior! Now THAT's a depressing thought ;)

I posted this awhile back, but I can't seem to find the thread. I had to research the web to find it again, and finally did, so I will repost it here. It sheds some light on Clint's health, his exercise routine, and the like. I thought it was relevant to this discussion.
AKA that was everything I wanted to know.........I really appreciate you posting this item. Thanks.

I sincerely hope this is a rumour which comes to nothing as I can't believe they are looking to re-make DH. Starsky and Hutch I can understand but, Clint is just too iconic for it to work, I think.

If you see where Clintus lives you will see that he is in reg 2 country.

One of the reasons they have not been released is that the 2nd film will require cuts and that will mean a re- submission to the BBFC and therefore a further payment for Warner.
They won't release one without the other ..... so no release for either.

Philo .

Philo, Thanks for explaining that. Whilst it still annoys me a little as least I can rationalise it with the reasons why. Appreciate it. Been that long since I saw the movie, I can't remember the racoon scene.

Questions & Answers / Clint's Keep Fit Routine

Hi, there. Does anyone have any background info on what would be a typical workout routine for Clint? In addiiton, I am aware that he has always been a believer in meditation and wonder if any of our members have info on this as well.

Does anyone have an adequate reason why the above movies have never been released on DVD? I find it very frustrating as these movies were really good, light-hearted entertainment.

General Discussion / Re:Clint & Cosmetic Surgery?
« on: June 02, 2004, 09:41:14 AM »
Hi, Clintus, and welcome to the board. I hope you don't mind that I moved your topic down here to General Discussion. Eastwood News is for, well, news, about Eastwood's upcoming projects, releases of his films, etc.

As far as I know, Eastwood hasn't had any sort of plastic surgery; he told John Hiscock a couple of years ago:(Quoted in The Mirror, Aug. 24, 2002; the interview can also be found online at the site of The Telegraph, Calcutta.) I think the poster in the thread you mentioned was joking. I can't find the exact quote, but I think he told another interviewer one time that if he had had surgery, he should sue the surgeon.

This really belongs to the sphere of Eastwood's private life, and we don't like to speculate about that here. I hope you understand.

Yes, agreed.......let's leave that one. We all have far more interesting topics to discuss about Clint and I look forward to joining in on these in the coming months/years. The site is excellent and a worthwhile tribute to the Big Man.

What is your overall feeling about this film? How would you rate it in comparison to the rest of Eastwood's films?

My feeling is there have been an awful lot of really good quality war films out there, including Saving Private Ryan, and Heartbreak Ridge is, I'm afraid a fairly bog-standard movie...........not of one Clint's best.

Hi, there.I'm a new member in terms of becoming a member of the dicsussion board but have enjoyed the site for a couple of years. I'm 45yrs old, married with 3 kids (18yr old, 16yr old and 21 MONTH old!). Been a Clint fan since I was 16yrs old and have never tired of the guy. Enjoy most of his work, including the more obsucre films he has made over the years. Live just outside Glasgow in Scotland, have my own business as a Financial Adviser and, guess what, despite what you hear about's sunny right now. Look forward to hearing from you guys, especially "newbies" like me!

General Discussion / Clint & Cosmetic Surgery?
« on: June 02, 2004, 04:00:08 AM »
Hi, Guys. One of the things I've always admired about Clint is the fact that he has never been so vain, so obessesed with his looks, or been so insecure as to submit to the surgeon's knife. In another dicsussion area, it has now been mentioned that he possibly has had a facelift. I find this hard to believe but wonder what other members views/opinions are on this and is there any evidence that he HAS had surgery? If not, let's not discuss this again.

Perhaps he'll have another facelift?  ;D
What do you mean by "another" facelfit? Surely, Clint has never succumbed to plastic surgery? I assume this is a joke or does anyone else know about this subject?
