« on: December 01, 2019, 08:02:52 PM »

Yes folks, it's that time of the year again. This is the thread to post all your pics, memories, season's greetings etc etc for Christmas 2019 and for the new 2020 year.

I'd like to thank Richard for his work on being the administrator on the best website there is, KC and Matt for all the hard work they do each day as moderators and all the members and guests that visit the board each day.

As I say every year, I urge everyone to be with family, not just through the holidays but all year round. It's the most important thing in life. Don't take them for granted.

To everyone here, I wish you a Safe and Merry Christmas and a very happy 2020.

Eastwood News / Paul Benjamin R.I.P
« on: July 05, 2019, 12:44:04 AM »
Quote
Veteran actor Paul Benjamin, who is best known for his role in the classic Spike Lee film Do the Right Thing, has passed away, according to a post on Lee’s Instagram page. He was 81.

Benjamin began his career in the 1960s playing bit parts in major and minor films, such as Midnight Cowboy and Escape from Alcatraz. His profile rose incrementally with his performances in the TV versions of I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings and Gideon’s Trumpet in 1979 and 1980, respectively, according to IMDb.com.
Beginning in the 1980s, Benjamin starred alongside legends of the screen and stage, such as Richard Pryor in the heartbreaking military drama Some Kind of Hero in 1982; Barbara Streisand in Nuts in 1987; Clint Eastwood in Pink Cadillac in 1989; Robert Townsend in The Five Heartbeats in 1991; Bill Duke in Hoodlum in 1997; and John Singleton in the searing thriller Rosewood in 1997.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CLINT

Thank you for all the enjoyment you've given me on the big and small screen over the years. All the best. 8)

I've started this thread a day early so we don't have multiple birthday topics as we have in the past. :)

Off-Topic Discussion / 91st Academy Awards Thread
« on: February 10, 2019, 02:34:36 PM »
The academy awards are in two weeks.

Here's the topic to post predictions and thoughts.

I've only seen three of the best picture nominees (Green Book, A Star Is Born, Bohemian Rhapsody with Green Book being the best of those.

I'm sure Holden Pike has seen all the films. Hopefully he'll stop by and give us a run down on his thoughts. :)

The Off Topic Forum is here to give Eastwood fans a chance to converse about things that are unrelated to their favorite actor-director, but would be of general interest to most members.

Please take some time to read through the Off Topic Discussion Forum before posting a new topic. The Off Topic Discussion Forum already has many threads about such things as favorite TV shows and movie discussions for the current year, as well as several appreciation threads for particular actors, directors, musicians, etc. There is no need to post a new topic for every new film or TV show that you have seen. Use the Search function, and you will most likely find you will be able to reply to an existing thread and do not need to create a new one.

Any new topics that are posted that the Moderators feel belong in an existing thread, will be merged into that thread. It is frustrating to do a search on a particular topic and find pages of threads where that topic is mentioned, and it can be time consuming.

Please do try to confine your posts in both new and existing topics to things of general interest to other members of this Forum. You all know how to use e-mail and instant messaging, and many of you are members of other web boards and forums. You don't need to post things here that are better suited for those channels. But if you do have a random thought or stray observation that you simply must share with us, you can always put it in The Endless, Pointless Thread!

The Off-Topic Discussion Forum is occasionally purged, and when older topics are deleted, members who posted in those threads will see their post counts automatically decrease.

Most of what is written here is already covered in the Board's Community Standards, which you were required to read when you first registered on the Board.

This Web Board is provided by the generosity of the Webmaster and kept going in an orderly fashion by the hard work of the Moderators, and we are united by one purpose: To make it the best place on the Internet for people to discuss the films of Clint Eastwood. Your co-operation regarding these matters is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

THE CEWB MODERATORS. :)

Off-Topic Discussion / Popular Films You've Never Seen
« on: December 22, 2018, 05:58:23 PM »
Ever been with a group of people and they're discussing a certain well known film and you chime in by saying, "I've never seen it!"

Next thing there's is deathly silence and you get looks like your from another planet. I remember here on the board a few months ago or could even be years the way time is flying by, when I think it was Gant who mentioned he had never seen a Star Wars film. That stunned me but I'm sure there are plenty of films I haven't seen that the majority of the earth's population has.

This could be a fun topic, mention some well known films you have never seen and we can discuss the pros and cons of the films and it may sway you to finally check them out.

A couple of films that I've never seen are Ferris Bueller's Day Off and Breakfast At Tiffany's. I think they are on Netflix down here so I may eventually see them.

Your turn to name some blockbuster/well known films you've never seen. 8)
