Off-Topic Discussion / The Best Title Sequences
« on: December 06, 2010, 05:16:43 AM »
Watching Magnum Force again recently made think about title sequences in movies. That film certainly has a memorable (if minimalistic) title sequence that sets the tone from the get go. The best title sequence award in my mind still belongs to Bullitt. The funky Schifrin score, the titles themselves with moving image inside them (very innovative for -68), the great cinematography, particularly of the emotionless gansters faces... That sequence also starts the story in a very cool way, so it's not just stylish images.  8)

What are your favorite title sequences?

Collectors' Corner / Good places to buy posters?
« on: January 14, 2008, 11:52:17 AM »
I'm looking for decent netshops to buy posters of Clint movies and other's as well. It should be reliable, not too expensive and have shipping for Europe. I know rarities are never cheap, but the overall pricerange of the place should be bearable.
I have already visited and Finnish members could also give tips of any good poster shops in Finland...  :)

Off-Topic Discussion / Director Richard Fleischer dies
« on: March 27, 2006, 02:50:54 PM »
Richard Fleischer, director of such films as The Boston Strangler, Tora! Tora! Tora! and Soylent Green died on Saturday of natural causes at the age of 89. His other works also include the highly controversial Mandingo, Mr. Majestyk and the gripping police drama The New Centurions (one of my personal favorites).

Not many of the old school  filmmakers left...He will be missed. :'(

General Discussion / Contributing Eastwood info elsewhere...
« on: August 11, 2005, 02:02:02 AM »
Have you contributed Eastwood info on other sites or publications? Documentaries? This board is obviously a goldmine for anyone searching for info on Clint Eastwood but I just got curious whether anyone has had the opportunity to share their "expertise" outside this community? The only instance I've had the opportunity so far is submitting a "goof" for imdb's entry of The Outlaw Josey Wales.

The Dirty Harry Films / Callahan or Calahan?
« on: June 06, 2005, 09:20:09 AM »
One thing that´s been bothering me for a while now is Harry´s last name... I always thought it would be Callahan, but in the end credits of Magnum Force, it´s written with only one l, Calahan. Is this just a typo? And in Magnum Force Frank DiGiorgio´s character is written as DiGorgio.  Did the person responsible for the titles simply make a couple of mistakes or what do you think?
