Off-Topic Discussion / NFL 2017
« on: September 07, 2017, 04:02:09 PM »
Tonight kicks off the 2017-18 National Football  League and I cannot wait! The first game is The Kansas City Chiefs vs. The New England Patriots. Being a huge fan of the game I watch all the football that I can. My team is The Dallas Cowboys and I hope we can find a way to get back to the Superbowl! There are political things going on in the league but I do not want to go there and just enjoy the game. O0

If you could hang out with any character played by Clint in any of his films, which one would it be? I would love to hang out with Philo Beddoe from Every Which Way But Loose and Any Which Way You Can.  I loved the beer drinking, easy to hang out with at bars and could defend you if you got in a scuffle. O0

Off-Topic Discussion / Ava Lorrayne
« on: May 03, 2011, 07:44:27 PM »
I am here to announce that my daughter Ava Lorrayne was born on May 2nd at 6.40pm. She weighed in at 7lbs and 14 oz and 20 inches long. She is healthy and beautiful. We are happy! :)

I think that Gran Torino might be Clint's last movie to act in but I hope I am wrong. If he did one more would it be a drama, western , comedy or action? My gut tells me drama because of Gran Torino and Million Dollar Baby but one more western would put the icing on the cake.

Off-Topic Discussion / Happy Holidays

These are some hard times lately more then many of us with the economy gone bad. I think about the friends and family that I have and it brings a smile to me though. I wish all the board members here a very happy Holiday season.

Off-Topic Discussion / NFL 2008
« on: September 03, 2008, 01:03:40 PM »
I am ready for some football. The National Football League kicks off tomorrow night with The New York Giants vs. The Washington Redskins. I think that my Dallas Cowboys are going to do well this year. We will win a playoff game this year. Tony Romo has matured and the addition of Zach Thomas to the defense will improve the Cowboys chances. The running attack of Marion Barber with 1st round pick Felix Jones should be one of the leagues best running back duos.

There are several comic book characters that I would love to see on the big screen. Dr. Strange and Damion Hellstorm(The Son Of Satan) would be the main ones that I would love to see. The others that I would love to see are The Master of Kung Fu, Morbius, Moon Night, Nomad(Jack Monroe), and ROM. Does anyone remember ROM?

Does anyone have any good ideas or helpful hints to balance life with these outrageous gas prices? I drive the total of about 80 miles a day five days a week. There is not a bus that runs in the town where I live. Moving is not an option because the school district where I live is much better then the districts close to where I work. Austin will be in Kindergarten in a few months and my wife's job is here in town. I have cut down on my beer drinking which is good because I am 36 and not as young as I once was and we are eating out much less and cooking here at home. My wife and myself can hold our own in a kitchen which is a good thing. Have you all found any other ways to deal with life with these crazy gas prices?

« on: April 14, 2008, 10:50:32 PM »
There have been many bands that have put out two consecutive albums that go hand in hand. What are some of your favorites? Here are some of mine.

The Beatles - Rubber Soul & Revolver
Metallica - Ride The Lightning & Master Of Puppets
The Grateful Dead - Workingman's Dead & American Beauty
Iron Maiden - Piece Of Mind & Powerslave
The Jayhawks  - Hollywood Town Hall & Tomorrow The Green Grass
Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here & Animals

I would have loved to hang out with Philo Beddoe. He was funny and just damn cool. I could drink beer and just hang with ol' Philo. :)

Off-Topic Discussion / One Meal and One Movie
« on: February 15, 2008, 12:52:49 AM »
What would be you ideal dinner to make for yourself followed up by a great movie?

For me it would be a steak cooked over charcoal to a medium rare with macaroni and cheese and garlic mashed potatoes.
I would fill my belly and then watch Unforgiven.

Off-Topic Discussion / The Food And Recipe Thread
« on: January 06, 2008, 09:58:14 PM »
I am a huge fan of the culinary arts. I love to cook. What do you all think about a recipe thread? I will share a pasta dish that I came up with. Heat up a jar of traditional spaghetti sauce with about eight cloves of garlic crushed into it. Brown a pound of ground beef in a separate pan.  Bring some water with a little vegetable oil to a boil and put some angel hair pasta in it.
Drain the fat from the ground beef and put the meat into the sauce. Turn the heat to a medium heat and cover the top.
When it is all done, put some angel hair pasta on your plate. Cover the pasta with a big handful of shredded cheddar and colby jack cheese.  Pour your garlic spaghetti sauce over the pasta so the cheese melts. Salt and  pepper(fresh ground pepper) the top of the sauce.
This is where it gets good: Take a tablespoon of sour cream and put it on top of the sauce. Mix it in with the rest of the dish. Add a little more salt and fresh ground pepper. You then have a rich , creamy and cheesy garlic fused pasta dish.
I have received many compliments from this meal.

General Discussion / Clint using special microphones
« on: November 13, 2007, 01:21:21 PM »
I friend of mine was telling me that Clint has to use special microphones in the films that he acts in. The reason being is that is voice is more difficult to pick up using the general microphones that are used in movie making. Has anyone else heard this? I think that my buddy does not know what he is talking about.

Off-Topic Discussion / NBA 2007
« on: October 30, 2007, 09:03:32 PM »
I am looking forward to this season. The Dallas Mavericks will be right on track this year. Devin Harris is the starting point guard with Jason "The Jet" Terry and Jerry Stackhouse as the two 6th man rotation. It will be a fun year.
Boston should be fun to watch as well with a lineup that includes Kevin Garnett , Paul Pierce and Ray Allen.

General Discussion / Would you like to see Clint in a Horror film?
« on: October 26, 2007, 10:16:53 PM »
I would love to see Clint in a horror film. He can bring so much intensity to whatever genre of film that he is doing. We have seen this example in westerns, action, dramas and thrillers. What do you all think?

General Discussion / Eastwood memories in your life
« on: October 16, 2007, 07:59:24 PM »
What are some of the great memories that you have watching Clint Eastwood films? I have many. I will share these troughout this thread. I will start with the first Clint film that I saw.  The last film that I saw in the theatre with my family before my mom and dad split up was Bronco Billy. It is my last memory of those two getting along when they were still married. They are older now and are cool with each other. I remember the drive home and we were all talking about the movie. It is a great memory. :)
