I watched Where Eagles Dare the other night. I enjoyed it quite a bit. But out of the three Eastwood war movies I still like Kelkys Heroes the best. I just love the story and cast in Kellys Heroes. Just a fun movie to watch. Where Eagles Dare would be second. And Heartbreakridge would be last.

I watched this movie for the second time ever last night. These types of movies aren't really something I'm into. But I have to say Bridges of Madison county is a very good movie and I enjoyed watching it. I feel like both Eastwood and Streep did a great job in this movie. I found it interesting throughout the entire movie. The ending is also really good. I remember enjoying it first time I watched it too. It's really an underrated Eastwoid movie. But it's one I enjoyed watching. What are some of your thoughts about this movie?

General Discussion / The witches movie

Do any of you own this movie on dvd?  It's the only one that I don't own that Eastwood stars in as an actor. I see that Amazon has it on DVD the newest release date is April 15 2014. The other release back in 2011 says it's an on demand made DVD using DVD-r recordable media.

Out of these three Eastwood war movies which one do you like best?  I like Kelly's heroes then heartbreak ridge and where Eagles dare is last. I watched heartbreak ridge last night and I'm fixing to watch Kelly's heroes here shortly. And I will watch where Eagles dare next week sometime. I've always liked Kelly's heroes cause of the great characters. It's just a fun movie to watch. In the past I haven't been to big of a fan of heartbreak and where Eagles dare. But I enjoyed heartbreak much more this time around. And hopefully after watching where Eagles dare again will have the same effect.

Which biography book is the best and most accurate account of Babe Ruth's life?  I watched The Babe a few nights ago the one starring John goodman as Ruth. Hadn't seen it in a long time. Babe Ruth is considered by many to be the best player ever. Can't argue that, but players like willie mays and Mickey mantle are right up there too. I firmly believe that Babe Ruth would be a great great player even in today's game. But he would have to take better care of himself. Less alcohol, better diet, and being physically fit would be required for him to be successful in today's game especially longevity wise. He was that good of a player.  The Babe Ruth story is very interesting and I am wanting to read a great biography on him. But I want it to be the most accurate one possible. I know that there will always be some mystery about Ruth. Like whether or not he called his shot. How he met his first wife etc. There will always be some inaccuracies. But I'm looking for the most accurate book out there.

General Discussion / Clint's great health
« on: April 14, 2017, 02:34:42 AM »
I just finished watching trouble with the curve. Which I have really enjoyed watching over the past 5 yrs. Its amazing to me how well Clint did in this movie considering he was 81 yrs old at the time. Not only that but he directed a great movie in sully this past year too. I haven't heard of any major illnesses with Clint at least that weren't made public. The man appears to be very healthy and looks healthy too. If I'm lucky enough to live that old I hope I'm as in great a shape as he is. He is a great role model for health and longevity. He obviously takes great care of himself still at the age of 86. I'm so proud that he's my favorite actor and such a great person and role model for good health.

Off-Topic Discussion / pictures professionally framed question
« on: December 28, 2016, 09:37:15 PM »
First off, Have any of you had a picture professionally framed?  I usually always frame my pictures myself. But last yr for Christmas my parents bought me a picture of Clint from GBU and paid to have it professionally framed which cost quite a bit.  Ive noticed that there is a brown paper covering the back of the frame.  Which I think that is customary for pictures being professionally framed. Do you leave the brown paper on the back of the frame?  What do you do leave it on there or remove the brown paper on the back of the frame?  The picture isnt matted or anything like that. The picture completely fills in the entire frame.  No matting was done.  Which I dont prefer my pictures to be matted.

Thanks for any help

I am wanting to buy a dvd movie from Amazon but Amazon doesnt have this dvd movie but one of there third party sellers does. I always buy my dvd movies brand new. I never buy used movies.  And when I order them from Amazon I always make sure it is sold and shipped from Amazon.  I am wanting to buy GBU on stand alone dvd.  But the most current copy of this movie on dvd is temporarily unavailable sold by Amazon.  Plus this copy is the extended version with Clint and Eli voices dubbed in.  The movie is long enough already.  So I am trying to get one of the previous copies of the movie.   But Amazon doesnt sell these copies.  Some of there third party sellers are.  And the prices are normal too.  These third party sellers list some of these copies as new.  Which I only want new dvd movies never opened before.  My question is:  Have any of you bought new dvd movies or anything from third party sellers on Amazon before?  If they list it as new then that means Im getting a brand new never been opened before or used before copy of the movie right?  It does say fullfilment by Amazon.  I do already own the movie in a set.  But I am collecting all of Clints movies on stand alone dvd.

Thanks for any help

Do any of you own this dvd two disc collectors edition?  Im unable to do pics.  But the dvd case or box is white with Clints full picture on the front.  Its the newest dvd out for this movie.  Its got added scenes that were originally cut.  And Clints and Elis voice is dubbed in which this was done when both men are older.  And there is a lee van cleef impersonator for his part since he died in 89.  Only done for those specific added on scenes.  Anyways just wondering how the dvd disc are set inside this case?  Is the case cardboard or plastic?  Is this a quality copy?  I cant get much info on the specifics on what type of case it is and how the disc are inside the case.

Thanks for any help

Off-Topic Discussion / Do you buy organic or conventional produce?
« on: November 06, 2016, 09:53:00 PM »
Im really into health and fitness now and am trying to be as healthy as possible.  I would like to buy all of my produce organic but its so dang expensive.  And not too many restaurants here that are only organic. I eat subway twice a week but I know there not organic.  I currently buy certain produce organic and others conventional. But I was wondering do you buy all organic produce, some organic produce, or all conventional produce?  I would think its better to eat conventional non organic produce than to not ever eat fruits and vegetables at all.  Anotherwards isnt it better to eat these fruits and veggies even if they do have some pesticides?  I mean the pesticide level is restricted/regulated to be safe enough to consume.  Just curious what do you do?  Because im finding it very difficult to eat out and money wise because pretty much all restaurants dont use organic produce plus its so expensive.

Just curious what are your three least favorite acted in films for Clint?  And explain why if u want too. Obviously we're all fans of his movies. But there's going to be some we don't necessarily like as much as others.

Here's mine:

1. Paint your wagon. Too long. Not a big fan of musicals. This movie is the only one I wouldnt care ever to see again.
2. Fire Fox. Just didn't click with me. Thought it was boring. I would watch again though.
3. City Heat. Didn't care for the 30s theme. Another one I thought was a little boring. Could have been much better. But would watch again at some point.

All of his other movies I liked at various degrees. There was some parts that I liked. But the above three just didn't do it for me. Not bad considering he's acted in 50 plus movies.

Just curious was Revenge of the creature Clints very first appearance onscreen? Was this his very first movie or tv show appearance ever?  On IMDb it shows revenge of the creature at the very bottom meaning that should be his first movie. But I wanted to make sure. There was another film that was released before revenge of the creature but that doesn't necessarily mean that it was filmed first.

Questions & Answers / Rawhide filming location question
« on: January 21, 2016, 09:08:09 PM »
I just started watching my Rawhide shows last night.  I watched all three episodes on disc one season one.  And I was wondering where was Rawhide filmed at?  Its hard to tell the area looks pretty vague too me.  And they might have even used paintings as scenary back drops.  I may be wrong so please someone let me know about this.

I saw on Amazon where you can purchase seasons or episodes. Not sure if that means you get the disc or if that means you buy the episode online?  But I would like to purchase the mr Ed episode with Clint and have it in DVD. Is that possible?  Just want that episode only without buying the entire season.

Off-Topic Discussion / 12 angry men (movie)
« on: January 12, 2016, 02:18:27 AM »
Any of you like this movie?  I watched it in high school government class and I remembered liking it. IMDb has it listed as there #7 rated movie. Solid 8.9 rating which is very good. Henry Fonda is very good in this movie. I think it's a classic. And I am thinking about buying it on DVD.

Off-Topic Discussion / Swiffer 360 dusters question.
« on: December 29, 2015, 09:52:25 PM »
Any of you use the swiffer 360 dusters?  Do they work well?  Are they safe to use and won't scratch up anything?  I am going to be found some major dusting in the next week or so and am trying to get people's thoughts and opinions on these sisters before I invest a lot of money on them.

I got the 40 film set. And the Rawhide complete series set. Honestly the Rawhide complete series set is really all I wanted this yr. I got it and I'm extremely happy. This new complete set is only $100. The old complete set of Rawhide cost way to much for me. I think it was like $400 or so. I told myself that I won't spend more than $100 for this set. Luckily my parents gave this set to me and it only cost them $100. Also got a lot of other great stuff that's not Eastwood related. So I had another Eastwood Christmas!😀  Hope all of you are have a Merry Christmas!

General Discussion / Clint Eastwood 40 film collection
« on: December 25, 2015, 10:08:55 AM »
Any of you have this set?  My mom gave it to me for Christmas. It is a very nice looking set. It has two documentaries that I don't have. And it has a nice looking book. But I already almost have all of his movies he's acted. I'm only 10 short. So I'm going to have a lot of duplicates with this set. But this set does have some of his directed only movies that I don't own. And the box the movies come in is pretty awesome. It would make a great display in my home. But I don't care for the way the disc are kept in this set. It looks like there inside a booklet. Which the disc are exposed and hard to get them out without scratching them or getting fingerprints on them. And there all double sided disc. I'm not a big fan of double sided disc. I do have a few movies that are double sided. But I generally stay away from them. My mom told me just like everybody else that she won't be offended if we take them back and get the money for it.  I'm on the fence on this. I can use the money for sure. But I like the book and the two documentaries. And the box is really cool. Great display piece. So I'm going to take a week and make up my mind.
