Eastwood News / Re: THE MULE: Production Information and News

I'm waiting to see the film before speculating whether the film will get any award nominations. To start talking about them while the film is still shooting or before its released is just setting yourself up for disappointment. I saw this trend with the last two films Clint has appeared in. People on this board got into a frenzy with Gran Torino and Trouble With A Curve while the films were still shooting about winning awards and were gutted when the films got nothing.

The film doesn't open here till the end of January. It's like the old days when I had to wait while everyone on the board was talking about the film. The last few have been released the same week as the USA. I even got to see Sully first, being a day ahead with the time difference.

Yes folks, it's that time of the year again. This is the thread to post all your pics, memories, season's greetings etc etc for Christmas 2018 and for the new 2019 year.

I'd like to thank Richard for his work on being the administrator on the best website there is, KC and Matt for all the hard work they do each day as moderators and all the members and guests that visit the board each day.

As I say every year, I urge everyone to be with family, not just through the holidays but all year round. It's the most important thing in life. Don't take them for granted.

To everyone here, I wish you a Safe and Merry Christmas and a very happy 2019.

You children are spoiled. We used to have to slog through nine or ten months before we could watch all the episodes in a series for a given year. And we couldn't avoid sitting through commercials.

And down here, we had a six month delay on top of that!! ;D

Itís such a shame they donít make more episodes a year. You watch them all in a couple of days and when itís such a great show, you want more.

Just watched The Christmas Chronicles starring Kurt Russell as Santa Claus. Great Christmas film. Yes it's aimed at kids but there's some great moments in this film. Mainly from watching Santa trying to convince the police he's who he really is.

And check out the jailhouse jam session, with a cameo from Steven Van Zant on guitar.

5/5.

This is still creepy after all these years. It's funny but today watching this and I found the murder of Arbogast more confronting than of Marion. And the way he fell down the steps was totally weird. It was cool seeing the camera angle watching him go backwards but it was like he stumbled back down every step, only collapsing at the floor. And what about just before that scene when he arrived back at the Motel a second time. He parks his car and slides across and gets out the passenger side, what's that about? Probably nothing but it seemed strange to me.

This is Perkins role of a lifetime. His little twitches and again I mention a camera angle, the one at the motel desk and it's right under his neck. Just brilliant.

I never saw the scene for scene remake but always thought, why would you remake it and not bring anything new to it? Seemed like a dumb idea to me.

Anyone recognise the policeman who opens the door for the very last scene? He looked familiar but I had to look up IMDB to find out who it was.

I don't think anyone mentioned how this movie is in many ways a ghost story, just without the actual ghost.

Aline mentioned that in the Psycho thread about the comparison between the two films.

Anyone have dreams about being naked in public?

I had one last night and I'm fairly certain I've had them before. The thing is, in the dream, I'm not that concerned about people seeing me. Where as I'm sure I would be if caught in that situation any other time.

Fairly certain Santy Claus will be bringing me this. 8) 8) 8)

Was playing my original 4 LP vinyl set yesterday to mark it's 50th birthday.
