Eastwood News / Re:Million Dollar Baby poster revealed
« on: November 09, 2004, 02:08:02 PM »
I would have to agree, Swank looks more like Jennifer garner than herself.  I'm still very excited to see the new film.  Sometimes I wish that Clint used a little more lighting in his movies, as with this poster. ;)

I think that Clint wearing the hair short helps a great deakl but I would guess that they did whatever they could to make him look younger.  He'll be more believable in the part.  Still, he looks better than most guys about half his age. 8) 8)

Ya gotta admit, putting Arnold as a bumbling cop in a movie with Clint as his lieutenant might be funny. ;D ;D ;D

General Discussion / Re:Clint and Sylvester Stallone
« on: October 22, 2004, 04:45:11 PM »
Stallone's choice of projects as of lately has been less than steller.  Copland was a movie in which he proved he could act.  I would agree to the fact that he was very good in Lock Up as well, kind of a sleeper hit but had an interesting story line and more of a drama for Sly.  As for Clint's pairing with Kevin Costner in a Perfect World, I think that Costner was great, being the megastar that he was at the time.  He pressed his own self destruct with his movie choices.  Still, it does seem that when Clint pairs with someone in his league, only Clint comes out smelling like a rose.  What about Clint revisting his Dirty Harry role and Stallone being a killer? ??? ???

Eastwood News / Re: Million Dollar Baby: Oscar Speculation Thread
« on: October 22, 2004, 04:35:34 PM »
Well if nothing else, the release time works best for the Oscar nominations and Hilary Swank has proven that she's got the goods and Morgan Freeman is way overdue in my opinion.

Eastwood News / Re:Eastwood to direct WWII drama for Spielberg
« on: August 02, 2004, 11:16:08 AM »
What about Clint in a small role, some high ranking officer in the WWII era?  I would have to imagine that there would be some cameo that Clint could find for himself.  Also, if this movie does come to light, I will be very pleased with Clint's choice as he is continuing to challenge himself with his choices.  I think that Heartbreak Ridge is an inspiring film, even with the comedic elements thrown in.  I guess we'll just have to wait and see. ;) ;)

Eastwood News / Re:Every which way but loose. Why no soundtrack ??

Yeah Coogan, it was Bronco Billy in which Barroom Buddies was featured.  For someone who is a tremendous supporter of jazz, he certainly had his period where he featured many country acts.   8) 8)

 8) I would have to agree.  I am not a big country music fan, but I  think the music on the Every Which Way films fits very nicely.  And I know that I'll probably get beat up for this, but I think Sondra Locke does a decent job singing in the movies as well.

Clint Eastwood Westerns / Re:Josey Wales' Chief Dan George

I would have to say that CDG was the right person for the rols and his delivery of his lines in the movie were the right mix of comedy and drama.   ::)

I have returned.  It's amazing what kids can do to your life.

Clint is one of the last living legends in the movie world and he continues to put out consistent, outstanding work.  Even at he tender young age ;) ;), Clint continues to challenge himself and I respect him for that.

Anyway, it's great to be posting again

I just hope that Mike Tyson doesn't teach her any tricks (chew, chew, gnaw).  She does seem to be an actress that gets very involved in her role and I look forward to her in a movie directed by Clint.

Eastwood News / Re:Arnold Names Eastwood, DeVito to Film Board
« on: April 22, 2004, 06:44:38 PM »
Danny Devito certainly seems to be having some problems in the bathroom.  Maybe Arnold chose both of them because he has a great degree of respect for them.  They have both had successful careers as both actors as well as behind the camera. 8)

Eastwood News / Re:Who saw MYSTIC RIVER? (NO SPOILERS)
« on: November 02, 2003, 07:40:00 PM »
;) I've got to say, probably the best movie I've seen all year.  I truly enjoy movies that put you in a different place and you couldn't help but feel the actor's pain, particularly Sean Penn.  I would be shocked if this does not garner at least one best actor nomination, preferably for Sean Penn or Tim Robbins.  I think it's a given that Clint will at least be nominated for Director.

Eastwood News / Re:MYSTIC RIVER comments (WARNING: SPOILERS ALLOWED)
« on: November 02, 2003, 07:34:30 PM »
Finally got to see Mystic River and thought it was an outstandind piece of work.  Clint has chosen a fantastic and disturbing (in a good way) story to direct and really moves you with the stories that are told in this movie.  I would have to agree with the crowd in that Kevin Bacon's character says I'll get you or something else will with the finger pointing at the end.
One question have is, what was happening with Kevin Bacon's wife?  I thought there must have been more to her character that what was being shown.  First I thought that maybe it had something to do with "Just" Ray Harris' envelope coming from Manhattan each month.  Then as the story unfolded, I just thought she was just a waste of time in the movie.  Anyone else have any thoughts on this?
 ??? ???

One of my all time suspense films, even if Clint wasn't in it.  Of course it helps that he is 8) 8)

Eastwood News / Re:Clint featured in Entertainment Weekly
« on: August 18, 2003, 07:54:00 PM »
I can only say that I am very excited for the movie to be coming out.  When Clint makes a drama, it's not like most dramas.  There always seems to be some kind of suspense to the story as well.  I think that I am looking forward to this one, more so than Blood Work.  Just the cast itself it quite impressive.  Maybe it will bring plenty of non Eastwood fans to the theater and make it the hit of the fall.

 8) 8) 8)

Eastwood News / Clint featured in Entertainment Weekly
« on: August 16, 2003, 06:58:59 PM »
Just a note that Mystic River is featured in this week's Entertainment Weekly magazine.  It's gives Clint a fair amount of praise and tells how Kevin Bacon was just dying to work with Clint.  Overall, I think they give the movie a positive review.  It's the feature movie for the month of October. ;D ;D ;D

Yeah, I would have to agree Hemlock.  It didn't work for Van damme either.  It's scary to think that's what Geoffrey Lewis went on to make after Clint.  But he did make Man Without a Face with Mel Gibson, not a bad flick. ;)
