Off-Topic Discussion / Re: 2014 Movie Discussion
« on: July 16, 2014, 06:19:33 AM »
Yeah, I watched Transformers: Age of Extinction last night, and while I think it was too long, I will say I liked it the best out of the sequels. Though I've only seen the previous three movies when I saw them in the theater, so that's going back seven years since the first!

I just came back from the theatre : too long but very well made  O0

Eastwood News / Re: Eli Wallach, R.I.P.

Sad news... I was lucky enough to see him do a Q&A here in London a few years back to acompany a re-issue of TGTBATU..
I sat right behind him for the screening of the film... Very warm and funny guy... R.I.P Eli

Just a small memory : one week ago, I was in Disneyland Paris in "Cinémagique" attraction, a nice place where a funny movie  of about 20mns is made with several famous movies extracts (Laurel and Hardy, Buster Keaton old ones ; Once Upon a Time in the West, Titanic, Gone With The Wind, Casablanca, Braveheart, Silence of the Lambs, Mary Poppins, Star Wars, Oz,   ... )  when the face of Tuco / Eli Wallach appeared on the wide screen,  in "The Good The Bad and The Ugly", as he is rolling his eyes, several people said at the same time "Tuco" and applauded.

Last movie I saw with him is "The Ghost Writer", Polanski, 15 days ago, where he had a small part.

Thank you one more time antonis !

I saw it yesterday afternoon, we were only 3 in the wide movie theatre, an old couple and I. And no one after us ... at 5pm.

If this couple seemed to like it a lot (they knew all the songs by heart !), I did not share their enthusiasm and even found it a little bit  ... boring  :(

Perfect in every detail, light, places, old cars,  ...  but none of the actors was good "to me" ... maybe am I too severe in my critics, but it was a very academic movie.

I had  already listened to some of the songs before on the radio, but had never heard about this Band,   and I definitely don't like the main singer's voice, sorry for all the ones who love it  ...  :-\

It is the first time I am so disappointed by a Clint Eastwood movie ... and I don't like it that at all :'(.

Go and see it by yourselves of course, higashimori is so enthusiastic that  I may have missed something important in this movie .
