I read on NewsMax.com that Clint's newest movie is another chapter in the "Dirty Harry" saga.  I hadn't heard that anywhere else, so I don't know how accurate it is.

It looks like a variation of a Sharps.  The Sharps was used quite a bit in the Civil War, so it's possible.  I went to the museum at Gettysburg a couple of years ago and saw just about every variation of every weapon used in GBU, so just about everybody's right to a degree.

I know a lot about guns, I own guns and shoot guns. My whole family loves guns, but I just have never seen Clint's rifle at the end of The Good, Bad and the Ugly! It does not have a long cartridge tube under the barrel. It can't be a shotgun, because shotguns don't fire that very far. So I don't know what it is, help me out anyone?

It's a Henry repeater, which was introduced in the Civil War and was widely used until the Winchester repeater came out in the early 1870s.

Great thread and great pictures.

About two years ago, the National Rifle Association had a display of Hollywood weapons at its HQ in Fairfax, VA.  One gun on display was one of the .44 Colt revolvers Clint used in "The Outlaw Josey Wales" and its rubber prop counterpart.

Anytime Clint, or any other movie hero, drops his gun, he is most likely dropping a rubber copy to keep the real one from getting damaged.

About 20+ years ago, I bought a copy of the paperback of "A Fistful of Dollars" overseas.  It was a British printing and was never in print in the US.  If anyone knows where I can get a copy, or has a copy, contact me and let me know.  I have PB's of the other two films in the trilogy.

She could have missed, but I thought I saw the bullet hit the water where his chest was.  Of course, it could have been a hallucination brought on by my believing that the drifter was a ghost.

Blondy and Manco could be the same person.  Both are bounty hunters and both carry a Henry repeater rifle, which was introduced and widely used in the Civil War.

Joe didn't seem to have a vocation, he was just a drifter who wandered into a money-making situation.

I'm convinced that he was the ghost of Jim Duncan.  His reaction to the whip, his flashback to the murder of Duncan, and the scene where Callie shoots at him in the bathtub convinced me that he was a ghost.

In the scene where Callie Travers shoots at him, one bullet hits right where his chest was in the water.  Even if he had ducked completely under, the tub was shallow enough to allow the bullet to hit him and do some major damage.

Just an observation.
