Watched this with my son yesterday. Easily one of the best films Clint has directed. I read some criticisms regarding the films perceived failure to tell this from the Iraq point of view but that's not the point. This is Chris Kyles story. Cooper is in every single scene and it really is an Oscar worthy performance. It's a taught, finely produced drama that had me hooked from beginning to end. Glad to see Eastwood still on top form at 84 years of age.
Oh and the score, whilst subdued, is surprisingly effective.

Streisand would have been great. She's a much better actress that Locke and has screen presence which Locke does not. She's also a sexy woman as is obvious when you seen her in one of my favourite comedies ever "What's Up Doc" Locke was OK in the role but I've just never warmed to her. I never know what the hell Clint saw in her.

I watched Blood Work a few days ago. I wasn't all that impressed with it when it came out but it's actually a decent enough little thriller. More of a TV movie of the week feel to it but aside from Jeff Daniels who was hopelessly miscast, I enjoyed it much more this time around

I remember being so excited that Harry was back. I was first in line at the cinema and loved every minute of the film apart from the silly dog. On reflection, it's not as good as that first viewing but at the time I thought it was incredible. Especially the finale.

A few people have mentioned on a Facebook site called Cine 70's that Clint was originally approached to play the role that eventually went to Kurt Russell. Apparently he was commited to another project at the time so couldn't accept.
Apologies if this has been mentioned before but it's new to me. Either that or I've forgotten
If there's any truth in it I think it's a damned shame. I love Russell in the movie but how cool would it have been if Clint had starred ? It's one of my favourite movies which would have been taken to a whole new level if my favourite movie star had played the lead.

I agree with the above post, to a point. There's more to acting than being able to cry which seems to be most of the scenes you highlight.
I think he's acted well in all his movies and he's gone out of his commfort zone a few times, White Hunter Black Heart for instance. The reality is that Clint became a "star" through his screen persona. Yes I've enjoyed his "different" roles but most fans, including me enjoy seeing him in his more traditional roles.
At his age he's doing well to be the star of any film. Personally I'd love to see him as a James Bond villain but as far as directing, I totally agree with you. Biopics don't reall interest me even though I thought Invictus to be an excellent film.

The photo was posted on my Facebook page by the guy who took it. He's a friend of Frank and was visiting when Clint & Sondra drove up in his new sports car to collect the painting.

I saw that photo in Sondra's book, but it was in black and white. This is obviously a cropped version because she was in the photo. Where did you find it in such high resolution?
