Magnum Force
Every Which Way But Loose

:( It's getting tough now.  I really like both of these.

Pale Rider
Magnum Force

Of all I've seen, there isn't really.

I could've said Paint Your Wagon (though I liked it okay) - but that's already gone, so... :-\

Jtobin13, that's really neat that you're in his new movie.

So, what's he like in person?  Did you get to talk with him much?

I just found this yesterday & so thought I'd post it here.

I've heard of it before but didn't realize it was now until I read this.

The annual covered bridges festival is this weekend in Winterset.  It sounds kinda neat.  Have any of you ever went to it?  Or know someone who has?  I wonder what it's like.

Scroll down here & it's on the left, a little blurb about it:

Tough choice.  '70s was close, but I went with the '90s because of Bridges.

I agree, very well put, lovelyrita.  :)

No matter how sad the ending was and though I would have liked her to have left with Robert, I know that the movie wouldn't have had the impact it did if it had a happy ending.

She was torn and she put her family first when she made her decision.

I watched the new movie Evening last night, which Meryl Streep has a small role in.  There was a line in it that made me think of Bridges, it relates to what you said about how if she would've went with Robert, it would've destroyed what they had.

The woman played by Vanessa Redgrave says, "I was married to Harris for forty years, too...we just never saw each other the whole time."  Then the woman she's talking to says, "Sometimes it's better that way."

It made me think of Bridges because Robert & Francesca loved each other for the rest of their lives for many years, though they never saw each other in that time.  Their love lasted and stayed strong.  Had they actually been together, maybe it wouldn't have.  It may've destroyed what they had, which Francesca said something about at the end of the movie.  I'd like to think that's not true, that they would've lived happily ever after together...but it never happened that way.  :'(

Questions & Answers / Re: Getting A Screenplay to Clint Eastwood
« on: September 26, 2007, 09:49:41 PM »
Hi Bill.  I have an old thread on here somewhere about this.  I had asked the same question.  I ended up calling Malpaso to find out, and the woman I spoke to told me that they only take submissions from literary or talent agents who are in the WGA, not writers themselves.  So, I'm in the process of getting one.

Good luck with this.

Thanks very much AB!!  :) :)

There was quite a bit in there I couldn't understand before.

This is the only video interview I've ever found of either one of them pertaining to this...and still almost no print ones either.  So I'm glad I found this & you told me what she actually said!  8)

I just had on the beginning because I'd missed that part, and it is the Bennett episode, so I guess each local PBS station is different.

At least they'll reshow it a few more times for anyone who missed it.

And you're welcome KC.  :)

I just found an interview about Bridges with Meryl but it's overdubbed in French.  You can hear her talking in English too, but the French dubbing overpowers a lot of what she says, so I didn't really get to hear all of it.  I know some French, but I'm far from fluent.  I understood some of this, but not all of it.

You can download it here:

Could someone who speaks French please translate some of this, the hard to understand parts?  Thanks if you can.  :)

I'm glad I finally found an interview about this.

I caught some of it.

What I saw was good, and Clint was talking with him a couple times.  In one part, they were sitting at a piano & I wondered if Clint would play it, like I read about on here, but he didn't as far as I saw.

It will be reshown tonight 1 AM Eastern time, KC, so maybe you can see it then.

Off-Topic Discussion / Re: Most over-rated film
« on: September 03, 2007, 10:02:11 PM »
I agree that Casablanca is overrated.  It's an okay film to me, but I think there are much better love stories than it, both from its time and more recently.  I've seen it on critics' best film lists too and called one of the most romantic movies ever, and I just don't agree with that.

Thanks.   :)  Maybe they'll end up working together soon, you never know.  That'd be  8).
