And Conan,i think the most annoying character to me is Clive Mantle's in "White hunter, black heart".You know, that big english guy which has a boxing match with Clint's character. He was just despicable. And that he beat Clint up made him more annoying. >:(

First to answer Eustressor's question.I think the first film i'd let my child see is GBU(Good, bad and the ugly).
He/she would have to be at least 12.Clint's crispy face would certainly frighten a smaller child. ;D It is a classic and so if i wanted to educate my kid i'd have him watch GBU.Of course,it does contain some unpleasant, violent scenes but again wouldnt he/she get to see even worse on tv sooner or later?

Matt:Which of Clint's pictures have given you the most enlightening experience? And why?

Well Lily,i think the best non westerns Clint has made are White Hunter,Black Heart,Dirty Harry(the first one) and Escape from Alcatraz. The first is probably because i love John Huston's work so i loved seeing a film that is based on him. Also Clint's acting was superb here.Same goes for the other two,Clint gave his uttermost to deliver a genuine performance.Dirty Harry is both thrilling because of the action and suspense and just because everything was perfectly made:the music, the camera, the acting was great(Andy Robinson's Scorpio remains one of the best portraits of serial killers in my opinion) and the direction was superb. And the last but not least Escape was Clint's probably most grim and grey movie and maybe thats why iam attracted to it so.
The scenes were high on tension, drama and very well written and directed and performed.
So thats it.I still have to see Breezy.;)
Now its my turn again.And i choose.....Conan!
Which of Clint's character do you associate most with and why?I hope it isnt too personal question.

So,its my turn.
RAVENWIND:In which CE movie would you have liked to play opposite Clint and why?
Well, thats not an easy one.If i had to choose it would have to be "Outlaw Josey Wales".Because its among my personal favorits and i liked the part that John Vernon played. It was a strong, meaningful part.
I hope you are satisfied with this answer. ;)

Then its my turn to ask isnt it?

Daisy Abigael: What is your favorite fight in an Eastwood movie?
Nightwing: In which movie of Clint's did Dennis Hopper have a cameo part?

Loved the storekeeper, but Aldo Giuffre's acting was really solid so i chose him instead.

This is what iam curious about. It seems a lot of us love GBU(with a reason,of course!) and so i was wondering which of the actors in lesser roles did you find the best.
Because not all of you know or remember their names,i have explained it in the parentesis.

Clint Eastwood Westerns / Clint in "Maverick"
« on: June 02, 2003, 07:57:39 AM »
I read that Clint has been in one episode of "Maverick",
James Garner's old show.It was before he started in "Rawhide",i believe. He played a thug. How funny to imagine him as a badass guy. ;D Has anyone seen this?

Happy b-day Clint!73 years of greatness! :)

Wallach has a small role in Mystic River
Thank god! Finally Clint fulfilled his promise. :)

Manco/Joe/Blondie,Josey Wales,Harry Callahan,John Wilson,William Munny are the best to me.

My second and third options are run for presidency and retire from movies.I guess i dont believe that Clint can achieve much more brilliancy in front of or behind camera. But i am waiting for that last touch. The finishing line. While iam on it,i think i'd like to see a kind of GBU sequel, but thats happening in present time. And since Clint has long ago promised Eli Wallach a role in one of his movies,it would be fair to do it.I'd like to see them play maybe grandsons of Blondie and Tuco or something like that. And they are going at eachother as business rivals.Old and nasty.;)

Bill McKinney, who played Terrill, was in many Eastwood movies,"Gauntlet","Bronco Billy" and the orangutang movies.Sorry you "Any which way" fans, but thats what they are to me. ;D

Iam wondering about the first mrs.Eastwood.Is she still alive? How is Clint's relationship with her?

General Discussion / What should Clint do next?

The last one is the least likely to happen i think.A shame.... :-\

I guess we disagree heavily on this Daisy.I see beauty in "Pale rider".To me its no worse than Unforgiven. After all, westerns arent really such a masterpiece to make.Lets face it.All that keeps them separated is different story and characters.

Its hard to rank them as most of them are equally great.
1.Pale rider
2.Outlaw Josey Wales
3.Good,bad and ugly
5.High plains drifter
6.Hang 'em high
7.For a few dollars more
8.Fistful of dollars
9.Two mules for sister Sara

I think Clint's westerns are the best. They all have a real story and an issue, not just the usual shoot-fight-drink-chase scenario.
