Yeah I was wondering when this was being released in theatres.  I thought I read in July sometime but Ive been checking with the theatres and Ive heard nothing anyone know for sure if it is or if it isnt.  Cause for me this is of epic porportions.  I wasnt even born yet when it really came out so this will probably be my one chance if it is.

Dont feel left out, I love the Rookie.  I think eastwood had a great performance in this movie.  When I first saw the movie I was shocked and amazed I had to have.  I bought it on VCD which wasnt the brighest idea, cause it looks like a bootleg there are scenes where Clints head is cut off but nothing really too horrible on it.  Im just waiting for it to come out on DVD and then Im gonna enjoy it truly.

Answer to why I like the character Nick Pulovski from The Rookie?

I think the character he portrays in this film is perfect for Clint.  I mean there have been many others that are so so but this ones brings him back to his DH roots.  He plays a beer drinking cigar smokin hard ass.  I dont know Ive liked the movie since the first time i've seen it.  The character just gets me.

DirtyDuffy45:  You are walking through a meadow and notice a leprechaun who has lost his way.  He asks you for directions, and when you give them to him, he rewards you with a strange gift.  Like it or not, you are about to become one of the Clint Eastwood characters, and live his life... (even if it means going back to live in a different era, if need be) FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE.  The leprechaun asks you which character you choose to become.  Which would it be?  And would you like this strange gift, or would you prefer it if you had never run into that leprechaun in the first place?

gotta go with The Man With No Name just cause I would love to be out west in the olden days and well of course hes the man no one would screw with you.  Gotta love the intimidation factor from his character.

This is what im talkin about.  The Idea sounds great who wouldnt want to do this.  If your as big of an Eastwood fan as I am you would all quit your jobs or take a week off and attend this once in a lifetime event.  I can only imagine if I got to see fistful on the big screen or Dirty Harry or Hang'em high or play misty.  The would be the greatest.  Seeing the movies I never had a chance to seeon the big screen.  Its not that bad of an investment say we buy 4 movies to play not so bad on the price.  We could advertise a little and have some other come charge 50 a head and I think the turnout would be excellent.  Then think for next year we already own 4 movies and we can buy 4 more and make it a 2 day event and just keep building and building.  It would be a beautiful thing and imagine if the man himself found out and showed up the possibilities are endless!

Love the climax I mean how many movies have you seen where Clint knocks a chick out.  He doesnt hesitate if he knows he flows.  The audience just loves that.  If it works for ya it works for ya.  Going back to the climax the ending was just put together so great right when shes shown floating on the water the track replays the song and he says this one is especially for Evelyn beautiful work.

Look this movie was made before I was even born and all I can say is damn! Clint knew what he was doin making his directorial debut huh?  Amazing the film is great one I watch a lot! I give it 10!

Maybe he has kept it there in hopes to one day unfold it and use it in another western.  I am waiting for him to direct another western thats my wish one that he stars in as like a chief george character from Outlaw Josey Wales and have another western hero who can wear it thats what I want to see. Maybe a remake of fistful.  I wish this would come out.

Maybe clint wanted it to be bad due to the fact that afterward Van Peebles gets screwed with by some big rednecks.  Maybe it was to make you think of how bad van peebles character is at singing or beiing in the band.  "You know man, The Iotola Of Rock'N'rola!

DirtyDuffy45  What Eastwood film since Unforgiven have you liked the most?  Which the least?

well since Unforgiven I would have to say Ive enjoyed most all of clints films I would have to say the movie I liked the most would be between Bloodwork and In the line of Fire.  The movie Ive liked the least would have to be space cowboys.  I got no problems with it Ive just like the others better.

Hemlock- The film industry is going to remake GBU and FOD and FFDM you can choose whose playing the legendary man with no name so who do you pick?

General Discussion / The Honkytonk Man
« on: January 20, 2003, 01:18:01 AM »
I would first like to start off by saying this is my first post so Im kinda new.  I've just been happy all day really, do to the fact it was a little clint all day for me.  I woke up and caught some Hang 'em High with which I was re-enlightend on how much of a great movie this is really classic point in time of the American Western.  Fell back asleep after having a delightful breakfast and was graced when I woke up to find A Clint movie I had never seen before on the ole' T.V. I had been tryin to find Honkytonk Man everywhere around here to rent and no place had a copy.  Until today this had been the only Eastwood movie I had'nt seen yet, so being the Eastwood lover I am you all understand the feeling I was in.  I watched the movie and again was completely satisfied with the man himself.  Its unbelieveable how great  he can play virtually any role.  Though my main discovery is how great beer drinking just seems to go along with a Eastwood movie expierence.  He pays the all american Joe, I love it.  In the Honkytonk Man he once again plays his indigeous character of the bar stool buddy and this is the Eastwood character I enjoy best.  The character can relate to so many people and its just so easy to relate to a character who has attributes and habits like yourself and thats why Clint has the Charisma which no other posses'es.
So I enjoyed my day to the fullest finally ending my quest to see every Eastwood movie around and i can finally say that there is no other actor who has even come close to having as much skill as the legendary "Man With No Name" and I dont know if anyone else will come much closer.
