Well, Rawhide7 ,there really hasn't been much to be persuaded to go see in the movie theatres on a consistent basis for many years and I don't think it has anything to do with the fact I'm older. I remember being dragged to go see Star Wars in 1977 as a kid and saying to myself, " What is this s--t?" I knew even then the movie industry would never be the same. Eventually I'll go see the Jewell movie, but like many in this forum I'm tired of the Biography movies Eastwood has done over the years.

Which is the main reason most people wont see it. It doesn't have special effects, comic book characters or a robot.

I think most people are tired of the political atmosphere the past few years, that might had stunted the poor b.o. showing in some aspects, but I just think in reality it was a story most people didn't care about. It doesn't make it a bad movie. Unfortunately, Eastwood makes movies for adults and the movie industry's main consumer aren't adults anymore.

Well I think Saman makes a valid point in the fact it's not Jumanji and it's not Batman part 67 or Xmen part 45. To be honest, I'm a bit surprised it had such a dismal opening weekend like that. Actually it's Eastwood's worst opening movie since Bronco Billy........

2500 Theatres and a $5,000,000 box office= pretty dismal opening weekend. The worst opening of a Eastwood movie in 40 years...

Well, according to Box Office Mojo and some facts Richard Jewell opened up to mediocre returns. 2500 theatres and a box office of $5,000,000 for the opening weekend is pretty dismal. In fact, it's the worst Eastwood opening in 40 years....

I'll probably check it out in a few months if the movie is still in theaters.

When I say accolades I'm talking about recognition. I'm not talking about Oscars. There is big difference. I'm not one of those who thinks every time Eastwood does a movie he should be nominated. I never thought Unforgiven should had won for Best Picture by any stretch but that's my opinion. After Gran Torino I do have to agree Eastwood's movies have been spotty and I only liked Sniper. The Mule was okay, so that's a decade of movies. I do feel after his RNC performance that pretty much created a derision against Eastwood unfortunately. Does Eastwood care?..Probably not. Do I hope Jewell is a good movie and people will go see it and myself as well?... Absolutely....

I already gave my opinions on this upcoming movie. I think the hardcore Eastwood fans will go see it, but I think the movie will be dismissed by the Oscar elite and I do agree Eastwood's days as far as getting accolades are over. They have been anyway. It just shows the stupidity and politics of everything, but in the long run I doubt Eastwood cares anyway....By the way AKA.... Eastwood not getting nominated for Best Actor for GT was totally bogus. He absolutely deserved that......

Of the few reviews I've read from the 'Film Critics' that saw the movie when it was shown @ AFI you already get the idea that most of these boneheads will find it difficult to even give a glowing review. Already one reviewer has proclaimed the movie will have a hard time at the box office for the reasons no one will remember this story or even care and it's not a top notch cast that will draw an audience. In fact, one review I read already predicted the movie will not make more than $35, 000,000 @ the Box Office. It's beyond nitpicking in a sense where " It's a well made movie and the cast are excellent in their roles, but...but...but..."....Look, it's a movie that will probably ostracize the media big time so like I said don't expect glowing reviews. That was already in the bank months before Eastwood uttered '" Action".....

Like I said, you hope the movie is a well made movie that people will go see. The other negative aspects just be prepared. I remember reading many reviews for 'The Mule' when it came out and all they did was mention Trump ( you got the feeling he was starring in the freaking movie) and all this political stupidity which had nothing to do with the movie. It was a farce. In the long run all it was is a movie and ultimately the movie made over 100 mill which was fine. I thought the movie was decent, but like anyone else I want to see a good movie. in the real world that's what should prevail, but it doesn't......

To be honest AKA, I think I shared the same reason that she was too young and the budding romance was predictable. I just didn't believe it for a second. I do like the movie, but that aspect of it was eh...

Like I expounded before, don't get your hopes high on the media and especially the dopey film reviewers giving any praise to the film once it comes out since the movie will show exactly and expose who they the media really are. You hope it's a well made movie and people will go see it. Regardless of the impending negative phony media Eastwood will certainly get he's still the King Of Hollywood....

Over the years I probably can say a few positive things about The Gauntlet than I could and did 25 years ago, but only in small doses and that is the first hour is very funny and Locke is really good in the film, but that's as far as I can go. The movie just gets too stupid by the time they hijack the bus..

White Hunter Black Heart is one of Eastwood's best films.. I'm amazed most people never reflect on that movie.

Joe Kidd is a good movie..........By the way, some of you consider yourselves Eastwood aficionados and you keep calling it 'Sister Sarah?"......Shame on you....

Important enough?.... What exactly has Sharon Stone ever done that was important.?????.....I would had preferred Sigourney Weaver, Rachel Ticotin or Ellen Barkin for starters.

Like the movie, but thought Rene Russo was miscast.

Personally I hope the movie does well and I give Eastwood bigtime kudos for making the movie, but if anyone is expecting accolades from Hollywood or the media or anything close in that realm be prepared to be disappointed. ....
