General Discussion / Re: How'd you become a Clint fan?
« on: October 05, 2003, 04:01:54 PM »
HI:
        I went to see Magnum Force and realized I had to get down the road an apartment in that building where he lived. Nothing like a Friendly Neighbor.

General Discussion / Re:What is Clints Best Film ?
« on: October 05, 2003, 03:53:17 PM »
HI:
      I would have to say The Outlaw Josey Wales. I think that was Clint's finest moment. I like Unforgiven, but it drags in the middlle. Josey Wales I always felt was a much better movie. The chemistry between Chief Dan George and Eastwood was brilliant. Dirty Harry is a close 2nd

Collectors' Corner / Clint DVD's at Tower Records
« on: October 04, 2003, 01:05:23 PM »
Hi All:

           I was at Tower Records today...I basically live there  :D. But what was interesting was the fact that I was looking at the ' Cheap DVD's 4 Sale" bin and half the bin was full of Clint movies. Here was pretty much in there.
Blood Work, The Rookie, In The Garden Of Good & Evil, The Guantlet, and about 20 DVD's of The Dead Pool. I guess i wasn't shocked because with the exception of Blood Work I am not too fond of any of those movies. If I was the Manager of Tower I would have put Every Which Way But Loose too. :D

Clint Eastwood Westerns / josey wales missing scenes?
« on: October 03, 2003, 12:49:42 PM »
Hi all:
             Last year i was in Tower Records and saw a new copy of JoseyWales on VHS. the box said there were extra footage and I even noticed the movie total minutes were longer. I never picked it up because I wanted to wait for the DVD version of the movie. i was wondering If anyone knows this to be true and what are the added footage. I think there was 'making of Josey Wales' added in the vhs, but I'm not sure.

Eastwood News / New York Times Movie Review
« on: October 03, 2003, 12:32:14 PM »
Hi all:
            If anyone get a chance they need to read A.O. Scott's review of Mystic River. Like alot of other reviews they have basically concluded that this is a bravo directorial piece by Eastwood, even more than Unforgiven. What is really astonishing is A.O Scott's praise for Sean Penn's performance which he hails as " one of the greatest acting performances in the last 50 years. He states that Penn's performance is on par with anything Brando, DeNiro, and Pacino have done. In fact he hails this as even better because Penn makes it seem like ' they are acting". Pretty much here in NYC all the reviews have been positive, even those literary lunkheads at Newsday gave it 3 stars, which must be a first I ever seen them give a Eastwood film in the 25 years i been reading that newspaper. This is all well and good and I am very happy to see Eastwood geting the print, but is this movie going to do well ?..Personally, I'm not sure considering the crap that is out thewe days. Maybe, people will want to finally see a movie that forces you to think..

Eastwood News / clint on inside the actors studio; reminder
« on: October 02, 2003, 12:47:53 PM »
HI GUYS;
                 I'M SURE THIS ISN'T NECESSARY, BUT JUST TO REMIND EVERONE CLINT WILL BE ON THE ACTORS STUDIO THIS COMING SUNDAY NIGHT. NICE TO SEE IT WILL BE A 2 HOUR SHOW. FROM A PERSONAL STANDPOINT I WAS GETTING TIRED OF SEEING THE SHOW HAVE OVERRATED PEOPLE LIKE BEN AFFLECK, DREW BARRYMORE ON THERE. LIPTON FINALLY HAS A PERSON WHO CAN BACK UP WHAT HE SAYS. IT'S BEEN AWHILE ON THAT SHOW.

HI All;
              IT WAS INTERESTING SEEING THE JONAH HEX CARTOON IN MOVIES CLINT SHOULD HAVE DONE. I HAVE JUST ABOUT EVERY COMIC OF JONAH HEX AND THERE WAS SOME TALK 25 YEARS AGO OF THAT COMIC COMING TO THE BIG SCREEN FROM DC COMICS. IT IS A SHAME IT NEVER BECAME A FACT BECAUSE IT WAS A BRILLIANT COMIC OF A MAN WHO WAS A BOUNTY HUNTER AND WITH A DEEP STORY OF HIS PAST. FROM A PERSONAL MOVIE I WOULD HAVE LOVED CLINT TO HAVE DONE WAS A MOVIE CALLED 'THIEF' THAT JAMES CAAN DID IN 1982. CONSIDERING CLINT IS MORE INTO CHARACTER STUDY I THINK THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN A GREAT ROLE FOR HIM AND I HOPE HE FINDS A FILM LIKE THAT TO FINISH HIS LAST ROLE AS A ACTOR WITH. THAT LAST SCENE OF CAAN WALKING DOWN THE DARK STREET AFTER PUTTING AWAY ROBERT PROSKY'S HENCHMEN WAS SOMETHING I WISH CLINT WAS DOING BACK THEN INSTEAD OF THOSE MONKEY MOVIES.

Hi all:
               Im new here , but i wanted to ask If anyone else ever notice in Dirty Harry when Eastwood is in the subway there is a shot of the word " KYLE" graffitied on a subway wall and there is a shot of a woman reading a newspaper when Callaghan runs by her in the subway also. That is Maggie Eastwood. Well, i had to start somewhere....ha ...Ciao.
