It may be a little while until we see a 2016 release but this is the thread for discussion of the films released this year. Anyone have any upcoming films that they're really looking forward to?

Where do we put movies we see in the theater in 2016 that were released in 2015? Like Star Wars?

You could still use the 2015 movie discussion thread for that.

The Revenant opens wide this month, though technically it's a 2015 release. But I'm looking forward to it (and I guess that would be a time when putting it in the 2015 thread would be okay to do).

Like KC mentioned, Sully is one to look forward to this year. I'll have to check what else I'm most anticipating for this year's movies. I'm sure I'll most likely make it to a 2016 release in a couple weeks or so. I went to the theater a lot in 2015!

I saw this last night with my wife's uncle.  We both enjoyed it.  I was hoping Diablo would be out by now but no such luck.  Something tells me it won't be opening around here and that's a pity because first of all, it's a western and second, it stars Scott Eastwood.  That's enough to pique my curiosity, regardless of the negative reviews I've read so far.  After seeing the trailer via IMDB, we're both interested in seeing it but may have to settle for Jane Got A Gun later this month instead.

There's two movies coming out this weekend I want to see: Hail, Caesar and Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. The first looks like it could be another good one from the Coen's, and for the second I'm just really curious to see how they mesh the story of Pride and Prejudice with zombies. I've read the original novel (as opposed to the novel Pride and Prejudice and Zombies), seen a movie version, and two local play productions of it, so I'm familiar with the story. Maybe this one will be the fun movie I was hoping Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter would be.

Even sillier than the first film and not as funny but enough jokes and plenty of celeb cameos to keep you interested for 90 minutes.

3/5.

A little on the raunchy, vulgar and gory side compared to a lot of other Marvel films, but very good.

Check out Remember with Christopher Plummer.  What a great flick!  Its rare to see a movie nowadays with a really good, unpredictable plot that unravels at just the right pace.

I agree.  I'm just glad I had the opportunity to see another good western on the big screen.  I hope they keep coming.

I can't remember if I've seen that Jane Got a Gun was playing at any nearby theaters, but I'll look for it when it comes to DVD.

I saw Deadpool recently, and like it was mentioned before, it is a hard "R" rating, but I did enjoy it a lot.

I'd like to see Jane Got A Gun again.  I wasn't planning on it, but happened to see Dead Pool again yesterday and enjoyed it all over again.
