They were driving 1972 Ford LTD's in Magnum Force so most likely it was shot in early to mid 1972?? Someone else may know for sure. As for partners I always liked Early and Digorgio.

My first post here so please be gentle!

I much preferred Chico Gonzales to any of Harry's partners. He had some depth to him whereas Early Smith and Kate fron The Enforcer seemed slightly one-dimensional.

I wish that Stallone had written Gonzales in Cobra to be the same character as the one in Dirty Harry. Hard if he was teaching college, though!

"You know Inspector Moore?"

Yup, my vote goes to her as well.  Tyne Daly did a great job.  Too bad she was killed off, would've been great to have her as Harry's partner in Sudden Impact, too.

To make it interesting, why not include:

John Mitchum as Frank DiGiorgio (Dirty Harry, Magnum Force & The Enforcer)
Albert Popwell as Horace King (Sudden Impact)
Evan Kim as Al Quan (The Dead Pool)

?

I liked Kate Moore ... and had had a good laugh at her sexually connoted evaluation of Harry :

K "You're 'cold bold Callahan with his great big .44'. Every other cop is satisfied with a .38 or a .357. Why do you have to carry that cannon for ?"

H "So I hit what I aim at, that's why."

K "Oh  I see. So that's for the penetration."

H "Does everything have a sexual connotation with you ?"

K "Only sometimes."

Kate Moore for me.

She had class.  (Maybe I have a touch of bias because I loved Tyne Daly in Cagney & Lacey when I was a kid.)

It was good to see Harry interact with a female partner, and I was sorry when she got killed.  She never really got a chance to prove herself - I kept thinking there'd be a moment when she'd suddenly show what she could do, maybe even outclass Harry.  For a moment anyway. ;)

I liked Tyne Daly in Cagney & Lacey   but not so much as Harry's partner.  I was sorry she got killed and I wish she had been given a chance to shine but my favourite has to be Chico.

Besides I felt there was a little something between Harry and Kate ...  ^-^
They liked each other ...

I think teaming up with her was a good thing for Harry ...

They became closer -even if it doesn't mean a lot ... yeah after all "cops don't get close to anybody" ;) ...- than he had ever been with any of his partners -maybe with the exception of Chico.

I picked Reni Santoni as my fav Harry partner but, had John Mitchum been listed, i'd chosen him or even Evan Kim for that matter.

Best regards M.Gant. aka C.E.
