Also, I'll do those that I can. It proved difficult to find some films during the Movie Challenge and even my Eastwood collection is not complete.

I'll do those movies that I can get my hands on.

I like the idea of foreign film against re make....

Then let's open it up to that. Instead of "Classic Vs. Modern Remake", we'll have Original and Remake.  O0

There are so many great foreign films, I'm going to have a lot of themes with those coming up.

That's perfect. There's no pressure to do everything -- join in when you can. It's fun the more people we have that are participating, so just do the best you can.

I should also add that until an official schedule is posted, anyone can go back and edit their suggestions. Once the schedule is posted, it will be fixed, because people may actually purchase something based on the schedule. So, just feel free to edit your post if you come up with a different set of films you'd like us to do.

Suggestions don't need to be approved, as long as they fit the theme, and they're what you want to suggest - they'll go on the schedule! So, whichever two films you want to do, you choose. But, also give the year for each film (you can find it on the IMDb) so there's no confusion about which films we're going to be watching.

I am afraid my little knowledge in movies prevent me to take part :( Anyway I can think of those so far. If you approve, let me know.

Hi Aline,

From what I can tell, they are both remakes, so yes they'd fit the theme.

I just want to reiterate that the choices don't need to be approved. I'm only going to organize this and post schedules, everyone who participates gets to think about what films they'd like to share with all of us that fit that theme. This is a democratic movie club -- of the people, by the people, for the people. So, consider what movie you'd like us to watch, and it will go on the schedule.

But everyone needs to narrow it down to one original movie with the remake. So do pick which you'd prefer from those two pairings.

Okay, Brendan's got The Vanishing films -- Gant, do you want to still do True Grit?

Hello all, it has been a very very long time.

Well Willie Wonka is on the horizon, so I can't use that. Gee what a tough question. I am in the camp which suggests leave the classics as they are. Dirty Harry perhaps, just kidding. Sod it lets go for Scarface, again.

Nice to be back

Slacker! Wow, great to see you. You have the honor of having started one of the oldest and longest running threads on the board "Movies I've Watched This Week" has never left the first page of the OT forum, and is 200 pages long now.  Really great to have you back!  O0

I just checked Slacker's last post - it was 11 years between posts. I think that has to be a record!
