AKA, would you be interested in watching a film, maybe just to experience some cinematic history, if it was a silent film?
Do you have a particular film that you're thinking about? It is not a classic film, but "The Artist" was both black and white AND a silent film, so of course, I haven't seen it! I did have a friend who watched "The Artist" who said that they really enjoyed it. I don't know if I could get through a completely silent film though. The closest I ever got to that was watching "All Is Lost," with Robert Redford, which had little to no dialogue, but there was sound since the film was about Robert Redford's battle, I think, to keep his ship from sinking.

Yes, I was actually thinking of a Chaplin film -- City Lights, which is one of the best movies I've ever seen. I've championed this film to others, and it has such broad appeal -- my parents loved it, people my age love it, and kids love it too. It's hard not to love Chaplin -- and this is my favorite of his. KC brought up some other great options, but another favorite of mine is Harold Lloyd, particularly Safety Last. Since the Movie Club is for sharing our appreciation of certain films with others who haven't yet seen them -- I think I would love to nominate at least one of these two films. They're really fun, and again -- it's amazing to step back in time and witness history.
