I've moved these posts up here to the News forum from the Celebrity Obituary thread. Richard Schickel's 1996 Clint Eastwood: A Biography was and remains the only authorized biography of Clint. He also wrote and directed the "making of" featurette about Unforgiven, Eastwood & Co. (1992), and two other documentaries on Clint's career: Eastwood on Eastwood (1997, TNT) and Eastwood Directs: The Untold Story (2013).

Here's another obituary link, this one in Variety:

I'd forgotten he'd directed Eastwood on Eastwood. I don't remember offhand if I've seen Eastwood Directs.

R.I.P. He was a great champion of Clint. Yes, he got things wrongs on occasion, but he had a long history of promoting film and the people who make them.

Has anybody read his other work beyond the Eastwood bio?

A lot of people associated with Eastwood over the years passing away. Robert James Waller who wrote Bridges Of Madison County died a few days ago.

I noticed we have that book at the store this morning. I have yet to read it.
