Yes folks, it's that time of the year again. This is the thread to post all your pics, memories, season's greetings etc etc for Christmas 2017 and for the new 2018 year.

I'd like to thank Richard for his work on being the administrator on the best website there is, KC and Matt for all the hard work they do each day as moderators and all the members and guests that visit the board each day.

As I say every year, I urge everyone to be with family, not just through the holidays but all year round. It's the most important thing in life. Don't take them for granted.

To everyone here, I wish you a Safe and Merry Christmas and a very happy 2018.

2017 has been quite a stressful year for me. The year started well with a holiday in Hawaii with my wife, my brother and sister in law back in March. It was a great trip with plenty of laughs.

In April we moved out of our house to have renovations done. It was supposed to take 4 months but its only just finished this week. Still a couple of minor things to be done but the whole process was a nightmare. I mean everything turned out great but it just dragged on and on.

Earlier in the year my father in law's health started to decline and by the middle of the year we had to put him into a nursing home. Alzheimers is rapidly taking over and it's hard to see. Even harder on my wife.

Our trip to Spain to do the Camino walk turned into a disaster. On the first day my wife had a heavy fall and bruised her knee and fractured her wrist. She didn't walk anymore of the Camino after that. On the second day, I twinged my back and couldn't walk long distances, so that was the end of the Camino for me.

On the way home we said never again but we watched the Martin Sheen movie, The Way a few weeks back and got motivated to try again some time in the future.

Of course hearing about the passing of our good friend Raewyn (Elizabeth77) was heartbreaking. I got one of those messages from Facebook yesterday that we became friends on there a year ago.

Seeing that makes me think no matter how bad I've had it this year, others have had it a lot worse.

So I'm hoping for a much better 2018.

Yeah, it's been a tough year. Glad to see this one pass, but you never know what's around the corner.

I just got back from visiting friends and family in Philly and was able to see the largest snowfall I'd seen in decades. We had four inches where I was staying, and during a holiday party, no less. It was nice to have such a beautiful surroundings to celebrate the holiday (albeit a bit early).

Happy holidays to everyone!

Still busy musically and getting to travel quite a bit..

Just very sad Raewyn  passing..I got to speak to her a little and she was such a lovely, brave soul...

Happy Holidays everyone..

It was great to return to the board this year thanks to SK and Raewyn (Elizabeth77)

Sadly the passing of our dear friend Raewyn (Elizabeth77) was heart breaking and hit us all hard.

Thanks to the Richard, KC, Matt  and SK for all the hard work they do. I know I am not around much these days but I just want to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a very happy 2018.

Take care guys and all the best!

Has been an interesting year so far.

My first full year of probable retirement (I could look for another job but too slack!) took time to get used to.

Worked in the garden and finally seeing progress with clearing the yard after nearly 2 decades with very little done in it (I am so not a gardener, I am a slash and burn type).

Have read many books (about 70) and watched a load of tv, lost a heap of weight (10 kgs) and dropped my blood pressure to manageable levels.

Things are ok.   :)

Merry Christmas everyone. Hope Santa Claus was kind to you all. I'll post a pic of my cat with no name mug at a later time.
