According to Kristina Rivera, the producer, the filming of The Mule is wrapped up and finished. Almost 2 months of shooting. Hyped and confused. share your thoughts.

Someone must have told her to take this down, since we can't see it anymore. What about this is confusing, though? It's been filming since June 4th, and so it doesn't surprise me that they are now done. Now all that there is left to do is wait for the release date to be announced.

Confused about its release date; is it a 2018 release of 2019? and there is also a feeling that this kinda fast shooting might affect the quality of Clint's storytelling power.

I think Warners will wait until the film is completed and they see it before deciding when they will release it. If they feel the film has Oscar potential, they will likely have a short Oscar qualifying release in select cities in 2018. If they dont, it will come out in 2019, likely in the spring or summer.

What is your best guess? Do you consider this one an award season contender? regarding the story the cast and crew.

I like your enthusiasm Saman, but I honestly don't know. I could see it going either way. When "Trouble with the Curve" was first announced, and Amy Adams was cast, I initially thought it was going to be a much more serious, poignant family drama than it turned out to be, similar to "Million Dollar Baby." It was much lighter than I expected, so I don't think that the plot and cast tells us enough to know the type of film that it will end up being.

Hi Saman !
According to the IMDb, The Mule is still filming but maybe the page is not updated yet.
Anyway, the shooting is finished or is about to be finished.
Million Dollar Baby and Gran Torino were shot in less than 40 days.
So, Clint is able to shoot fast and to make great pictures.
Do you know what happened to Robert Lorenz ?
His last collaboration with Clint is American Sniper in 2014.
So, it seems that Kristina Rivera and Tim Moore replaced him.

Hi AKA23 !
I agree with you. Right now, we don’t know if The Mule is Oscar worthy or not.
Gran Torino have not received Oscar nominations, despite its qualities.
Trouble with the Curve was disappointing.
However, I think that The Mule is more promising than Trouble with the Curve.
To this date, Warner Bros Oscar contender is A Star is Born.

Around the time of “Trouble with the curve” Lorenz expressed an interest in becoming a director. Since he directed Eastwood in that, his IMDB page indicates that he has had several diectorial projects in development, but so far none of them have been made. I had assumed that he left Malpaso to build his own career as a director.

Hi Hocine;
thanks for your participation.
As you mentioned Eastwood is a pure genius regarding his pace in movie making. He is a true natural artist with most genuine instincts which he trusts most. but his last movie was a flop and im still wondering why he decided to make that movie, some critics claimed that he may have lost his magic wand. I don't agree with that. let's hope that The Mule is gonna be one of his great works if it is going to be his last role in his stellar career.

According to Steve Stephen S. Campanelli's post on Instagram, filming of the main unit of The Mule is over, but the 2nd unit directing is still underway. So this means that cameras are still rolling.

Yes, AKA23, I thought the same.

But after Trouble with the Curve, he worked on Jersey Boys and American Sniper.

Among his directing projects, I think he had a military movie and a movie with Viggo Mortensen: I don't remember if it's the same project or two different projects.

I have a theory about why he decided to make The 15:17 to Paris:
Maybe Clint did it because the Impossible Odds script wasn't ready. Indeed, Brian Helgeland was supposed to work on that script.
But today, what happened to that Impossible Odds project ? I don't know.

Clint seems to like keeping himself busy. He likes playing golf and skiing too. But not all the time.
So, he made The 15:17 to Paris instead, when he had the opportunity to do it. Maybe he wanted to challenge him.
Maybe he liked the story too. Finally, that was disappointing.

He probably did Trouble with the Curve and Jersey Boys because his other project, A Star is Born, wasn't ready
and was postponed many times before giving the project to Bradley Cooper.

Thank you, Hocine. I enjoyed it.
This man never stops to amaze me. For the last 2 months, he has been traveling constantly and yet there is no sign of boredom or exhaustion, aged 88. I wonder what are they doing in California?
