Calling all Londoners... Clint is back on London's Southbank, tho not in person this time unfortunately..

A Fistfull of Dollars is now showing at the B.F.I on the Southbank.. I'm going next week, can't wait to see (and hear) this on the big screen.
The British Film Institute is a great cinema complex housed in one of my favourite Brutalist buildings on the Thames..

Lovely bar too.. just like a proper cinema.. I'll take a dry martini with my movies over a bucket of popcorn and litre of  liquefied sugar any day ;)

Thanks, Gant! I'll just add a link:

They are also showing four other Leone films (though there aren't as many screenings for these), including The Good, the Bad and the Ugly on April 29 (only).

Unfortunately, we're too late for For a Few Dollars More ... that's already screened, on April 8 and 15.

Have fun! I wish I could fly over and join you.

Thanks KC, shame you can't make it...

Strange they're showing them out of sequence...

I saw The Good, the Bad and the Ugly there a few years ago with Eli Wallach in attendance. he sat just in front of me
whilst the film ran and then got up for a chat and Q and A.. Magical night...

Beautifully restored print.. Amazing to look at and that soundtrack never sounded better..
Great night... Think I'll book myself a ticket for "Once Upon A Time In The West next...

Wish I was there. I'm stuck with King Lear, from the Royal Shakespeare Company, in Brooklyn tonight.  :D

  ;D ;D ;D

A lot more Baxter's were massacred  than I'd remembered.. I wonder if Before now I'd been watching a version trimmed for television..

Felt a bit sorry for the Baxter's to be honest.  (Spoiler alert) All wiped out and they didn't really deserve it..

Someone I met recently on Fb said her father-in-law worked for a major film distributor in the UK back in the 60's and was the first to be offered Fistfull of Dollars..

He screened it and turned it down, saying.. "Too violent.. No-ones ever going to want to see that"
