For some reason I never saw the tv series when it aired over here... I've just bought season 1 on dvd.. If I enjoy it I'm gonna work thru the whole lot.....

Gant, are you a fan of the movie? The first couple seasons more closely resemble the tone of the movie, but then the show forms its own identity. I grew up with the show and I used to watch it compulsively, so I came to the movie after that. I like both the show and the movie for what they offer.

I think I may have seen the movie many years ago.. but can't really remember it..
I'm gonna work my way through the whole thing if I'm enjoying it..

Also purchased season 1 of Columbo and The Rockford Files..
