What are your favorite Clint Eastwood movies of the 1970s ?

This decade is very rich. Clint was very busy at that time.
He became a director and was the biggest box office star.
It was particularly difficult to make a list because I enjoyed all the films he made.

Here’s my list:

1. The Outlaw Josey Wales
2. Dirty Harry
3. High Plains Drifter
4. Play Misty For Me
5. Thunderbolt and Lightfoot
6. Escape From Alcatraz
7. The Beguiled
8. Breezy
9. The Gauntlet
10. Magnum Force
11. Kelly’s Heroes
12. Every Which Way But Loose
13. The Eiger Sanction
14. The Enforcer
15. Joe Kidd

It’s not on my list, but Two Mules For Sister Sara was released in 1970.

My favorite Eastwood films of the 70’s are:

Dirty Harry
High Plains Drifter
The Outlaw Josey Wales
The Enforcer
Every Which Way But Loose
Escape From Alcatraz

Listed chronologically, I consider these to be his best of the decade.  I do enjoy Magnum Force but it comes in just under the radar in comparison to what I consider favorites.

Dirty Harry tops this list for me.  As great a character as The Man With No Name the previous decade.

1:  Dirty Harry
2:  The Outlaw Josey Wales
3:  Thunderbolt And Lightfoot
4:  High Plains Drifter
5:  Magnum Force
6:  Play Misty For Me
7:  The Beguiled
8:  Escape From Alcatraz
9:  Kelly's Heroes
10: The Enforcer
11: The Gauntlet
12: Every Which Way But Loose
13: Two Mules For Sister Sara
14: Joe Kidd
15: Breezy
16: The Eiger Sanction

The top three would never change but 4 through 16 could change from time to time.

I think this is the toughest decade for me to try to rank. There's about four movies I could put as number 1 for me.

This is a really tough decade to rank. 16 movies in one decade! :o Obviously the first four are the ones I mentioned in the previous message--those are some of my absolute favorites.

You are right, Jed Cooper
Two Mules For Sister Sara movie was released in 1970.
However, I considered it as a movie from the 1960s because the copyright indicates 1969.
