Hey Hocine. I don't really understand the purpose of this article. Jordan's article doesn't contain anything different, or any new information, than what he said a couple of months ago. The only purpose that I see is kind of a "you heard it here first! I was ahead of the curve on this and reported it months ago, and look another article is saying the same thing!" I think this does serve as a data point that the Eastwood official twitter account is likely fake, since one of the articles mentioned that everyone at Warners has been very tight lipped about this situation and that they weren't sharing any information, so it seems unlikely to me that an official Malpaso source would be telling board members here upon being contacted about an already approved project at Warner Bros supposedly filming in 2023.

Hey AKA23,
I agree with you: this article is useless since there is no news.
About that Eastwood official Twitter account, the fact that it pretends to be really official without being able to give a perfect evidence, is kind of boring and annoying.
Beyond the fact that we can look at some rare pictures of Clint and his films, that Twitter account is useless too.
I think that I will be waiting for some good news from more traditional sources like Variety or The Hollywood Reporter.

Hi Antonis,

No news, unfortunately

https://www.worldofreel.com/blog/2023/3/dk4fnus6odvw3983z84g3u4jvbao5z

The Twitter account, which claims being the only official one on Clint, stated that a directing project is finalizing: in my opinion, it is safer to wait some news from official sources like Variety, The Hollywood Reporter or Deadline.

I've seen a couple articles speculating about Clint's health over the last few days. There's nothing official about it, but I think it's more because he hasn't been seen in public for a bit.

I still wonder if he makes any more movies. It would be wonderful if he did, of course.

Pictures posted in November:

I hope he doesn't have health problems. If he has decided that's it then I wish him a happy retirement. He's certainly earned it.

No health problems at all.
There are various pics from recent occasions published from members of his family on Instagram (at least).
He looks as always .
His first wife Maggie has memory issues though

Yes, I hope that he is doing fine, although nobody is eternal.
The recent speculations, about his health, are motivated by the fact that his upper back is curved and his bones are supposed to be weak.
Actually, Clint has back issues for many years.
At his peak, he was 6 feet 4 tall. Now, he may be 6 feet tall.

I'm not sure that we can realistically say that a close to 93 year old man has no health problems at all. I think virtually anyone that old would have some degree of health issues, but I don't think anything is publicly known that would substantiate that he has not done another film because of health problems. For almost 93, he seems healthier than his peers. I think it's more likely that he's had difficulty getting financing for the film he wants to do (a report came out that he proposed one and Warners rejected it months ago), or simply decided it may not be worth the hassle to develop a relationship with another studio in order to be able to make more films and have to cater the films he chooses to make to their preferences. He has had autonomy to make whatever films he wanted to for decades and probably doesn't like the idea of that changing. Like everyone here, I hope there is another film and will continue to be on the look out for an announcement.

Clint has definitely lost a fair amount of weight in recent years. I noticed this in "The Mule," and he looked even thinner to me in "Cry Macho," and also pretty thin in the recent video with the toy company. He used to weigh a lot more than he does now, but that could be a reflection of natural aging. I don't want to speculate as to why he's lost so much weight, but the weight loss has concerned me as a fan. On the other hand, Radar Online is closer to a tabloid than a legitimate news organization, so I'd be skeptical of the analysis they've put out without corroborating evidence. It's just not true that Clint hasn't been seen in more than 400 days. He fairly recently did that visit to the toy makers that are creating Clint Eastwood action figures, for example, and I recently saw a post that in April he's going to be doing a private autograph signing for collectors, which I doubt he'd be doing if he were experiencing major health problems.

This sounds like it could be good. It would move him away from his usual focus on true life stories to a fictional story, which I usually tend to enjoy more. I'm skeptical this is true because I'm not sure Eastwood would announce to Warners that something would be his final film. He has always said that he has no interest in retiring, and Warners apparently already rejected a film that he wanted to do, so I don't know if they'd be willing to extend the relationship to do this new film. I also don't know if DiscussingFilm is a reputable news source. I have not heard of that before.

He has stated "working till 105" ....
Suppose we are entering the next phase of his career ,concerning his last film rather his last staring role.

Am I getting this right? He's not just directing and producing, he's also writing? Goddamn, Clint. May he prosper in his new career.

The premise kind of reminds me of The Ox-Bow Incident, which I know Eastwood is a fan of.

Do you all think this is real, or fake news, and why?  :2funny: I am still skeptical of this story.

I am not seeing anything that is stating that he is writing the film in the article from Discussing Film. Are others seeing that from other sources? I think it's highly unlikely that he would do that.

The news of this potential future filming is relayed by several French media. It still seems believable. Perhaps he offered Warner a less expensive project than the one around Clarence Darrow.

Hi AKA23,
Well, I hope this is not an April fools trick at least. Technically, this is not since the news was announced on March 30 but we never know. Officially, Clint has never been credited as a screenwriter. He could bring some elements to a story but he does not have the reputation to write original stories. For instance, for Absolute Power, Clint wanted screenwriter William Goldman to rewrite the script and to make big changes: then, the film is different from the novel.
For A Fistful of Dollars, Clint would have contributed to the script (he also removed some of his lines) but he was uncredited. So, I really do not know. We have to wait for some other news by sources more reliable than FilmDiscussing. Toni Collette and Nicholas Hoult could be cast and Clint is supposed to look for a young Hollywood actor to play the leading role. The title Juror #2 makes me think of 12 Angry Men directed by Sydney Lumet, even if the synopsis has nothing to do with it.

Hi Honkytonk Man,
Exactly. But those French media are mainly based on FilmDiscussing: this is not a solid guarantee.
Remember that Impossible Odds project, which was supposed to be made after Sully, before to disappear.
However, I agree with you: it still seems believable.
The project around Clarence Darrow is a big mistery: it is still in development according to IMDb and it was removed from the Chris K. T. Bright website, whereas the synopsis used to be available on the films section of this website.

Questions for everyone here: what do you think about that Juror #2 project ? Are you enthusiastic or not ? And why ?
