Yes we have DVD's here that have overseas certification and that is because the exact same cover is used everywhere.

If it comes here I don't think we will be able to miss it.

Strange please tell this is you going overboard with the electronic version of Greshen 2000 (and no I don't know how it is spelt)

I agree Matt: looks like they want him to look like Kincaid so as to buy in to the success of Bridges in the European market.

I've always disliked the cover for the In The Line Of Fire Region 1 SE DVD:

It makes Horrigan look gaunt and ugly, and Lilly like some calculating seductress! >:(  (Which, I can assure you, is very far from the truth! ;D)

Quoting Matt:

Amen!  The "mainstream" youth of today have no taste for quality, and true, understated, style. ::) Bah humbug! >:(

I have that special edition of In the Line of Fire, but I never realized the slight likeness between Eastwood and John Malkovich on the cover.

The point is that The EIger sanction was made in 1975 not 1995.

Or is it the Grandad's special edition   :)

They should have had some of the others featured looking older. Ben Bowman...... George  ;)

Geez!that picture on in the line of fire IS ugly! Never seen that one before :o
Maybe, just maybe they did the cover of the eiger just like that to make people talk ;) and maybe, just maybe it worked ;)
We actually have here a two page thread about an ugly picture, poor clint would be devastated if he knew ;D

I think the "in the line of fire" pic is WAY worse, but clint has an excuse; he actually WAS old in that pic, as opposed to beein young, with shiny silver hair lmao ;)
Im feeling really chatty these days, sorry if my post havent been really interesting :)

:) Hey Misty, I like to see your posts anytime - this board needs chatty people!

I think the "in the line of fire" pic is WAY worse, but clint has an excuse; he actually WAS old in that pic
But the point is that the artwork is not an accurate representation of what Clint looked like in that film!  Older or younger, he didn't look like that!  And nor did Rene Russo for that matter.  I can't believe that the artists thought that was a flattering or accurate representation of the characters.  Lilly is a smart, well-mannered young woman, not a high-class hooker! :o >:(

Phew! ::) *takes deep breath and restores calm like a true Secret Service agent*  :)

Your right Lilly. I never really thought too much of the cover before, but if someone has never seen the movie before, I can see what your getting at with the mis-representation of Rene Russo's character.

I think having two pictures of Eastwood is also a mistake .

Yeah, it does seem unnecessary to have two.  It's not as if they show different sides of his character, and he's given almost the same expression in each.

This is getting rather off-topic for "classifieds", but I liked the region 2 SE DVD cover much more:

I think it could be better but just about anything is an improvement on the other one!  This was the first DVD/video I ever bought. 8)

I have replaced the region 1 cover pic on page 2 of this thread with a larger version.

Universal / MCA is at it again on changing cover art when they re-release DVD's.  Universal has just changed the cover art for "High Plains Drifter" and "The Beguiled".  Both disc are now lower priced.

I wonder what Universal is going to use for "Coogan's Bluff" and "Breezy" when they get released?

I saw the new cover for High Plains Drifter not too long ago. I have to say I like the other one better.

I agree with KC that they must have tried to picture frosted hair. But, if the Eiger sanction cover was changed for the release in the netherlands, that explains some things. They might not know how "frosted hair on mountain climber" looks like  ;D ;D
