:o  It's probably a good thing Agent isn't here to see this.  He might get an itchy bidding finger.  ;)

nice poster though...But the Clint Eastwood Items get way too out of price. I was bidding on a one dollar henry winkler poster, and someone raised it to 2$, So I let it go ;D
Im pretty scared of bidding there, I never buy stuff over 3$ lol.....But I checked the clint items, and they dont run cheap. Obviously a lot of people like eastwood. But Id NEVER EVER pay 1000 something bucks for a poster...first off its not even in decent condition ;D

That poster is way over priced (even by Misty's price limits  ;))

It is not that rare and hails from 1974. $200 would be its limit and then I would say the seller had done well .

I was talking to the seller today, he said he was even shocked.. ;D He thought it was a joke first of all, then he realised things were beginning to get a little serious.

And it's still climbing!  :o

It's at $1,625 now with three days left still.  Unreal.

I felt the price this was fetching was Eastwood news.

It certainly doesn't belong in this section as nobody here is going to buy it .   ???

Oh well in the words of Red Garnett ....

Sorry, Philo, I didn't mean to hurt your feelings by moving it ... it's just that topics of this sort, involving actual sales of memorabilia, have traditionally always gone in this forum, regardless of how outlandish the item or the price was.  In my mind, it's not "news," like an announcement that Eastwood's new film is screening at a festival ... or a report that Clint doesn't want to act any more ... ;)

And you never know who might see a topic like this (who may not even be registered), and actually bid ... ridiculous price and all. ;)

The other moderators were agreed that the topic should be moved, by the way.

Friends?  ??? :D

 sort of.

I would add that if the other moderators agreed then they should have moved it earlier. Otherwise it may give the false impression that you are Head moderator.

Moving the cover art topic is exactly the same reason that the poster thread was put up by me to discuss it. There will be less of that with it as a classified.

I did my bit, by bringing it to peoples attention.

It will be read less where it is now .

its true that people (well me at least,) dont read classified as much as news....But its true that this isnt really news, exept the price is so high that its almost astonishing! its up to 1.675 :o :o
Wow, you really have to trust someone to put that much money at risk...I just won a 1.50$ tape, and Im afraid I wont receive it and lose my money! ;D

Yes the not the kind of thing you see every day ... if ever.

When someone shows me an auction that goes higher than this for something like a poster then I will admit I posted it in the wrong section ..... I won't be holding my breath .

It is certainly better reading than Mystic river showing in Scotland .... big deal. (no offence Lilly)

I won't be commenting on this matter further

Philo, we're sorry that moving the thread has upset you so much, but we've always had threads that discussed unusual eBay auctions in Classifieds.  After some consideration, we've decided that the buy/sell forum wasn't really set up for discussions, and we've asked Cal to modify the name and description of that  forum to make it a place for Eastwood memorabilia collectors to discuss interesting auctions and their collections, as well as a place to post classifieds.  Hopefully those changes will be coming soon.  In the meanwhile, please understand that the decision to move threads is usually (and was in this case) a decision that includes all three of the moderators' input.

If you're ever unhappy with a decision one of us makes on the board, then please write us off the board and, we'll be happy to work with you.

I had just checked on it and was going to post something about it.  That's amazing that a poster would go for $3350!!! :o :o

Hey!!  I see that you have gotten over 500 posts which now makes you a  Member Extraordinaire.

Congratulations!

::) Yep, just checked it myself:
US $3,350.00 (approx. £2,065.99)
Amazing....

I'd like to know how much my Original Universal The Mummy with Boris Karloff would be worth now, only a Swedish insert, but original 1933 first issue... and in Nr mint condition, the US One sheet I think still holds the record price, If I remember right it was approx $425,000.  :o

..and I agree, I think this should be a news thread item.
You don't see Eastwood posters going for this amount everyday.

I had been wondering why this forum was renamed. Now I see. I would say it's a rather nice compromise.

And it's obvious someone wanted that poster an awful lot! :o
