I started this topic on the Old Board, but didnt get it answered.

What was the music used in the Blood Work trailer?

Anyone know?

Sorry Nightwing, I've got absolutely no idea. The trouble is I've been thinking and trying to search for places where you could find the answer to this question, and I'm not coming up with anything. The fact that nobody knows how you would go about finding the answer is probably the reason that nobody has responded yet. Sorry.

Was that music used at any point in the movie? I can't remember off-hand.

No, I don't believe that it was Chrisopher. I thought it was good. They should have used it in the movie.

A little something to note:

Christopher, it isn't uncommon at all to have music in the trailer that is made for the purposes of specifically the trailer and that doesn't even appear in the film. Just for recent examples, I don't think that Absolute Power , True Crime , Space Cowboys (other than the N' Sync song)  or Blood Work actually had the music that was in the trailers in the films. I don't know why they do this, but for some reason it's done. Often times, I think the music that is in the trailer is good, and it's a shame it isn't in the film. However, I suppose the trailer and the film are evoking a different kind of mood and so that's probably why trailer music is often not in the film itself, especially in Eastwood trailers where Eastwood often likes to have very slow, subtle scores, and the music in the trailers is often meant to try to create an atmospehere of anticipation and suspense often being up tempo or not in the subtle vein of music that Eastwood likes. Blood Work , however, is a bit noteworthy. It had hardly any music at all!

I believe it's often the case that the score for the film isn't ready when the trailer is being prepared.

Could be.

I know that happens quite a bit that music from a trailer isn't in the film (sometimes that goes for a scene as well). For example, if you've seen the trailer for "The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers" the music they play in the trailer is the score from "Requiem for a Dream."

In the case of Eastwood's movies, perhaps the composer wrote those pieces of music as well that were used in the trailers.

I found this site. It has the music listed that was used in movie trailers for a whole bunch of movies. Unfortuantly theres no 'Blood Work'.

And the music used in the Lord of the Rings traier wasnt the exact Reqium for a Dream theme. The composer for LOTR did a re-mix of it and used his own version.

Actually, I remember reading about the LOTR re-mixing the music from a recent Movie Answer Man column from Roger Ebert.
