Well, I just posted this in the other thread... but here goes:

#1:  Chrissie Hynde of The Pretenders. Great voice, a LOT of talent. She could play guitar, write her own music, and sing and rock with the best of them.

#2:  Janis Joplin.  Just one of the greatest of all time. Her voice so soulful and sometimes painful to listen to, and she could rock.

#3:  Whitney Houston. As I just said in the other thread, when she sings gospel music, it's so beautiful it sounds like it was kissed by God. And she was so gorgeous and talented.. if only she hadn't met Bobby Brown. :'(

(I just noticed how diverse my choices are. But... they're all the best at their style of music. :) )

Chrissie

Janis

Whitney

EDIT:  I forgot the beautiful and talented Sheryl Crow. She has to go on the list too:

Dolly Parton
Loretta Lynn (her new albums a killer)

I was lucky enough to meet Chrissie Hynde a few years back and she's even more gorgeous in real life.. some gals just have it... ;D ;)

Can someone post a pic of Ms Harry for me..circa late 70's please.... ;D

I've never really listend to Janis... shame on me, I know.
I have heard a lot about Gretchen Wilson but none of her stuff is available over here yet.. is she that good..

Keep those Kate pics comin' Philo  ;D

Norah Jones. I don't listen to alot of differant bands or musicians, especially any of todays bands since they all sound the same and are here for a month and then gone, but Norah Jones is tremendous. Her songs are beautiful and her voice is wonderful to listen too.

The Corrs are another band I like. The lead female singer, Andrea Corr is great and the violinist Caroline is wonderful. Nice blend of music.

I like the photos of Dolly & Connie.  Connie looks like a young Angie Dickinson there, around the time Angie appeared in Rio Bravo w/The Duke, Dino & Ricky Nelson.  Thanks, Coogan.

...and thanks to you all for the interesting posts and pics!  ;D
