I just realized that I have never seen Breezy and I was wondering is it any good?
Only things I know about it are William Holden`s character falls in love with hippiegirl and that it was Eastwood`s second film that he directed after Play Misty For Me.
Somehow the Eastwood films that they keep showing on TV(in Finland anyway) are the ones he is famous for:Unforgiven,Dirty Harry and lately In The Line Of Fire.
So what I´m asking is should I buy it if I`ll find it on dvd someday...simply because it`s a Eastwood film?

I wouldn't count on finding Breezy on DVD anytime soon ... it's barely had a life on VHS.

Not sure if I'm reading this right ... yes, it was the second Eastwood-directed film AFTER Misty, his third directorial effort overall. (His second was High Plains Drifter.)
I'd say Breezy is not one of Clint's major achievements, but it's worth watching if you're interested in his work. I especially liked Holden's performance, and Kay Lenz was an unconventional but excellent casting choice for the free-spirited girl who first tries to exploit him, then comes to love him.

It's very standard stuff, but William Holden definitely elevates the material, as does Clint's confidently subtle touch behnd the camera. It's a well made little movie that could have easily slipped into nothing more than TV movie-of-the-week level junk. It's not going to knock your socks off, but it's definitely worth seeing.

I know it`s gonna take sometime before Breezy is on DVD(actually I have never seen any copy of it on VHS either).I`m just hoping that I could see it on any form: VHS or DVD...or even on TV.
Sorry about my poor english KC.I forgot that High Plains Drifter was before Breezy. So you read it wrong ;D

'Breezy' sometimes appears during the wee hours on Sky Cinema in the UK. It is here that i got my copy.

I would have to disagree with most of the people in this thread on the quality of the film though. I found it subtle, underplayed, genuinly touching, if horrendously dated.

Kay Lenz would be the standout performance for me, with William Holden in as ever good form. Clint stands out a mile in his cameo and High Plains Drifter gets an overlong 'in joke' plug.

Certainly a film to 'Lavalot' (see the film)

Incidently, This is my Girlfriends favorite Clint film, and she's seen a lot.

Good for your girlfriend, Preach ... and good for you. I'm glad you both like Breezy. It would be interesting to know how the career of the man who directed this film wouild have developed ... if he hadn't been "Clint Eastwood."

Oh, and welcome to the new Clint Web Board—I see that was your first post here!  :D
