EDIT, April 25, 2007: All but one of the avatars that used to appear in this post were hosted by Matt's former ISP, and his account there has now been deactivated, so anyone who was using one of these with the URLs from "home.swfla.rr.com" will find they don't work anymore.

But there is good news!  :)

Matt sent them to Cal, the Webmaster, and Cal added them as options on the site in the last upgrade!  8)

To find them, go to your "Profile" page. Select "Forum Profile Information." At the top you'll see "Personalized Picture." In the list box, select "[Eastwood]." When you've clicked on it, another list box will appear to the right with dozens of avs, most of them created by Matt, to choose from.

Those are slick. Like the Alcatraz and Thunderbolt ones.

Thanks Matt for going to all the trouble of resizing all those and posting here. I'm taking advantage of that myself. I have no idea how to resize pictures.

Matt, those are great. I'm especially fond of the Unforgiven  fade out one.

I see a problem with the Escape from Alcatraz one, though ... it's not square. If someone uses it as an avatar, it will be distorted (I tested it to make sure).

You can fix that by pasting it into a solid color square of some color that's not used in the picture, say red. Then, save it as a .gif (you may need to convert to 256 colors first), and make the "background" color transparent. That's what I did to make my oblong av.

Hey, KC, if I were to send a photo, would you be able to squeeze it down and host it for me?

I would, but GeoCities wont let me.

I'm no graphic artist, but I've been enjoying making some avatars of Clint for the board if anyone would like any of these.

Well, Matt you MAY not be a graphic artist, but you've done quite an excellent job with these avatars! Some of them are really great! Doesn't everyone agree? Maybe Matt should quit his day job and do THIS for a living!  ;D ;)

KC, I noticed your Avatar doesnt change pics anymore. Its just a shot of the Magnum 44. Is there something wrong with yours, or is that what you wanted? Or is it just my crappy broswer? (Damn Microsoft >:()

No, Nightwing, I made the animated .gif just for fun while we mods were trying out this site. But I got a bit tired of seeing it flash back and forth all the time once the site was "open to the public." So I changed my av to just one of the two pics in the animated .gif.  8)

AKA, if I could do this for a living, I'd quit my day job in a heartbeat.  The time has flown like crazy playing with these images, and it's been pretty fun too.

Those who have already read Page One and are now only reading the updates to this thread, turn back to the first post of the first page to see all the latest additions to the avatar list.  Rather than posting the newer ones throughout the thread as I make them, I'd like to keep them all together... it's easier to compare and choose which avatar you like best when they're all in one post.

I just got done adding a few more, and I'm sure I'll probably have another half dozen or so before I run out of good sources.   So keep checking back. :)

This seems as good a place and time as any to add my voice to those above and to thank Matt personally for helping me out with my picture.
