True. I actually found it earlier on the internet, but couldn't order it, because I wasn't sure whether to trust the company. They wanted to know dad's (he would have let me use his credit card) social security number, and we weren't sure if it's safe to give it. Then I found it in a local supermarket, and it was the last one.

I hope the movies are worth watching.

        I'm sorry I haven't been here for awhile, but I did get BREACH and THE DEPARTED a few days ago......and I'll tell ya, we loved the BREACH but just couldn't enjoy THE DEPARTED......We still wonder what was in the envelope

A History of Violence was only $12.00,but after I took it off the shelf and was reading the back cover,a shop assistant came along and took the other copies off the shelf,so I think the price was about to go back up again.

I actually saw these two yesterday but decided against buying them since on both 4 disc packages I had one film that I already own.Which is always the way with these box sets.

Then I thought what the heck and I went back today and bought them.Price tag on them said $20.00 each but when I purchased them and extra 15% came off since the store is closing down and I got them for $17.00 each.

Box set One: They Drive By Night, High Sierra, Maltese Falcon, To Have and Have Not.

Box Set Two: Big Sleep, Dark Passage, Key largo, Treasure of Sierra Madre.

I seem to remember that D'Amb may have gotten these a year or two ago as well.

The supermarket I bought my last DVDs has now on sale 22 different Clint Eastwood-movies at 7 euros each. I have to go shopping!!

I seem to remember that D'Amb may have gotten these a year or two ago as well.

I had considered buying a few of the Humphrey Bogart collections over the years, however, was a bit skeptical. I opted not to simply because I knew that most of transfers were sloppy and not as clean as they should have been.  I assumed that Warner Brothers would eventfully have to give these films the proper treatment they deserved with clean transfers and loaded film extras and of course they finally came around for most of them.  I still had most of my old VHS copies at the time so I was in no rush to acquire this set.  It paid off with the release of The Bogart Signature Collection last year in which the Casablanca two disc special edition and the three disc special edition The Maltese Falcon were included.  One disc not included in the set is The Big Sleep single DVD which includes both the 114 minute 1946 theatrical-release version and the 116 minute 1944 pre-release version containing 18 minutes which were either reshot or deleted from the theatrical release which is must have. I have most of the collector editions DVDs in single releases purchased the week they came out so no need to buy the box set although I have thought about it from time to time.

Yeah, great choice, Agent.   Philo, I share your sentiment, but don't want to say "never".  I think there is hope for the future, and there is still some amazing work being done.  However, I am nostalgic for those big, quality documentary epics.
