I am a great fan of ken griffey and jr. Jr is recovering from a very bad torn hammy. He had surgery to reattach it recently. I had injured both of mine and yes it is very painful, it was the main reason i stopped playing ball, and age. But griffey is in such great condition that he should bounce back and help the reds to finish below the astros.hee

Ron Gant was involved in a fatal accident yesterday. This guy pulled out in front of him and Ron hit him. The man died but Ron suffered no bodily harm as he was driving his suv, good thing for seat belts.
Randy Johnson has a sore arm and will not start thursday against the pirates. He will probably start this weekend.

The only baseball team I have been to see playing in the States is The Brewers.     Next stupid question.... Do they play in the Major League?    I kind of fell for Sexson #11.   I really thought he was cute. All 6ft+ of him.    I do like watching baseball and since visiting the States I do understand the rules, I just can't follow the teams as our TV doesn't show enough basball in sensible hours!

Hey Lin, yeh the brewers play in Milwawkee. They had a season not too long ago when they won the world series with Garner as manager. Sexson I believe is now with the dodgers, I could be wrong, but the brewers traded him off for the salery cap thing.
I use to play baseball allot starting out with little league in california, then the grapefruit league in florida while signing with the reds in 79'. I learned allot about drugs and alcohol from the guys who misused it, and the girls they passed around . In 89 I joined the senior league here in houston, and played along side jr richards and others who had retired. The rules were the same then but could be bent alittle. Now, I am nursing my over 45 hammies and bad back, but I never to this day took any drug to enhance my ability or to make me feel good.

Hey William,  It was in Milwalkie that I saw them playing more than once.  The last time was in 2003 when Sexson was their star!!     I really love the game and I like to know about players.  You sure had a time playing though.   I agree drugs are no good in sports as it's not YOU but the drug that wins or scores.    I sympathize with you, sport does cause the old aches and pains when you get past the big 40.   I used to play squash, climb, run, cycle race and play soft ball in Australia but that is all behind me.  I just like to look at most of them now.  I do still go walking and I have abseiled not so long ago.  Parachute jumping is now out as well as I have a hip that doesn't like being landed on from a great height.   Like all real sporty people it hurts when the body says slow up!!

That the Milwaukee Brewers ever won a World Series is news to Major League Baseball (they only played in one, in 1982, and lost), as is the assertion that the sport has a salary cap.

If it's Richie Sexson you mean, he went from the Brewers to the Arizona Diamondbacks after the 2003 season. Last year, he signed a 4-year $50 million contract with the Seattle Mariners. He was arrested for DUI early in February, but disputes the charges.

KC  Thanks for the updated info.   Yes I do mean Richie Sexson.   I am surprised that he was DUI however he could be right couldn't he?  I hope so.       I didn't think that the Brewers had won anything major as two of  the folks I went to the games with supported the Red Socks and laughed at my interest in the Brewers.    The other two however are right with the Brewers.  We had a really long discussion about the merits of both teams when tailgated before the game.

KC, I am begging for your devine mercy. I made a big mistake to lin and said the brewers won the world series when I should have said got to the series . I was thinking of minnesota. Please excuse my spelling, it was difficult enough spelling on the chalk board at school, on a dirt floor. ..hee. I am hoping that shillings ankle is good enough to pitch a full game. I did forget about richie going to the snake house. Any word on Giambi and the steroid word this week?

What a fun Spring Training game last night between the Sox and the Yankees. Jason hit his first HR of the spring (actually, that may have been Jason's first HR w/out steroids in his system for a few years). It was also the Yankees first Spring Training win this year.

It was a Red Sox home game, and the crowd was deafening when Giambi came up to the plate. He shut them all up in the fifth inning with a bomb out of the park. Looks like he might be back!

Matt, KC, you two are wonderful with the pics . I havnt seen much about the mets or the cards but they say that the cards' pujols is going to have a banner year. Maybe the balls are back on "spring" daylight savings time . I saw vinnie castilla last night playing for mexico in a carribbian world series, last years rbi man looked ready. Do you think that with the steroids scare on, the players will start to shrink , er I mean look thinner?, or will they find another cream to get that hulked up look?

I wish there was a lot more baseball on our TV.  I suppose I will have to think about getting Sky or one of the sports channels as I am missing out on loads of sport that I like to watch.

Bless you Lin, I will probably have to type a 100 word essay on getting my facts straight . I have and espn and a sportscenter channel to get most of my national stuff and the local channels here go into great detail about the boys in florida since that is where the astros and others are playing now while kc is snowed in...oooops . Do you have access to any kind of satelite?

Jose Canseco with the help of his book "Juiced" will be the topic of discussion in a congressional hearing soon. Several major league ball players will have to testify at those hearings. How do you all feel about this and how will it effect your desire to pay money to go see the players this year?
