My pre release copy arrived this morning. It is everything you would want.

The track: Potrero Hill 3:07 could be the music composed for the deleted scene we have seen stills from, where Harry gets into a fight with some racist guys attacking a young black man.

I really hope we see more Lalo scores they are so much better than a lot of sondtracks that make it to CD.

Cheers Philo.... very interesting

Perhaps we could get a Special Edition DVD with the deleted scenes included, like they did with "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly", or at least tagged on at the end of the movie as extra material

I suppose we are really lucky to get this sort of CD released, because I just can't see the marketing logicians saying, "Boy, we'll make some money on this one"...

Yes, it is no secret that these releases are on account of Lalo himself.

It is no surprise as Warner has never released Josey on cd either.

I would have thought that there must have been reasonable sales of the Dirty Harry CD before they contemplated a Magnum Force release.

Great news though. Magnum Force is my favourite film. Although reading about that bowling alley scene has made me really annoyed. I really want to see that now.

Maybe in time, say another 20 years, films like Magnum Force will be properly appreciated as classics, and at that point more of an effort will be made on things like DVD releases (or whatever we have in the future). At the moment, I think the "critical" consensus (not my view) is that Magnum Force is a bit lightweight and undeserving of the treatment that a film like, say, Spartacus might get. But I think time will be kinder to Clint's work.

Thanks for the info, Matt!  I hope the trend continues with the rest of the series.  Although Magnum Force is not a favorite of mine, I can appreciate it's value when comparing it to Sudden Impact and The Dead Pool.

You gotta be your own press agent to get some things done!  Do you think it will make a profit?

OT What in your opinion is the best Shifrin/Bullitt OST CD to buy?

There are quite a few out there!

One of my favourite Lalo scores has to be Enter The Dragon ......... it's fantastic . His score for the original Amytiville Horror is also one of his best ........ truly creepy .

I would like Charley Varrick to be released. It some Dirty Harry themes in there.

The Beguiled
Coogan's bluff

I agree Enter the dragon is a fine soundtrack. One of the first I purchased on LP.

Perhaps this isn't news to the rest of you, but according to a review by musicfromthemovies.com, The Enforcer score is on its way. 8)

Quote
While The Enforcer is already in the works, let’s hope that Sudden Impact and The Dead Pool are getting lined-up for similarly deluxe treatment.

Sorry if this is duplicate info.

It is worth pointing out that I doubt it will come out under the same banner as it was not composed by Lalo Shifrin. It was a fine score from Jerry Fielding.

Sudden Impact is the next Lalo Harry score.

Anyone got this yet?

I just got it today from Play.com
It's great.

Looking forward to Sudden Impact next. Hope we don't have to wait another year for the next release.

Was in my mailbox this morning  8)
Got it for only $8

BRILLIANT  O0

Track 22 "Finale" is my favorite. You can really feel Harry's sadness in this piece.

Besides, there's a perfect harmony between the movie/scene and the music -just like there was in Dirty Harry. To such an extent that they are indissociable.
You listen to the music and you find yourself re-playing the movie in your head.
That's the magic of cinema  ;) 8)

Ain't it amazing ??!  ;D :D
