Jailhouse Rock.  Follow That Dream label reissue of the orignal album with tons of extras.  FTD has done a great job over the years not only reissuing orignal albums, but rare material such as outtakes, concerts and personal recordings.

With this soundtrack, there were so many outtakes and alternate takes that a 2nd volume was issued!

Am currently spinning versions by Screamin' Jay Hawkins, The Alan a Price Set and Nina Simone...

Wow, very cool, Gant.  I bet it's interesting to hear the different versions back-to-back.

I wouldn't have admitted this years ago, but you're probably right.  In the rock 'n' roll genre, Elvis will always be my favorite, is arguably one of it's best singers and was even compared to opera singer Mario Lanza with recordings like It's Now Or Never, Surrender and other similar songs which set him apart from his contemporaries.  Freddie Mercury, though, man, what an incredible voice!

"You Should Be Dancing," with John Travolta, working the room, which I've grown to appreciate. Travolta was brave and athletic. I think he did a great job. (When I was a kid, I didn't realize this.)

Just finished listening to Concierto Andalus performed by Los Romeros on the classical music radio station NPR. I had to wait until it finished and they announced its title because I didn't remember the title.

What a delightful, joyous piece of music! I recommend it.
