I'm kind of curious, there are a lot of people that seem to feel that Eastwood is too old to star in another Dirty Harry but the right age for another Western. What makes these two things different? If Eastwood isn't too old to be riding a horse and killin' folks, than why can't he credibly star in another action film? Robert Duvall was very effective in Open Range and Broken Trail. He wasn't 80 plus years when he made them, but in his 70s and I thought the films were done very well and enjoyed seeing him in them. I believe Eastwood would do just as well even at 84. As for an action film, I just don't see it with Clint. At best I could see him in a cameo or a slightly bigger role in an Expendables sequel, or as an elder Dirty Harry with, possibly, Scott Eastwood playing a younger Callahan. Clint's appearance would be to show what the retired detective is up to now and helping solve a cold case of his, possibly narrating the scenes with his son playing the younger Harry. To stay on topic (and I'm not sure if this image has been posted yet), here's what an elder Dirty Harry may look like:
