^ I've posted a link to the Scott Foundas Variety interview in the News forum, in the thread "JERSEY BOYS: Reviews and Features in the Media." Perhaps in the future, new pictures of Clont as he promotes the new film can go there.  :)

I must say, I'm beginning to really like this latest version of "the beard"!

The beard looks good.  Would be good if he were growing it for another western, but that's wishful thinking I'm sure.

I'm kind of curious, there are a lot of people that seem to feel that Eastwood is too old to star in another Dirty Harry but the right age for another Western. What makes these two things different? If Eastwood isn't too old to be riding a horse and killin' folks, than why can't he credibly star in another action film?

RE: Clint New Beard.......New beard looks great on Clint. The right amount of grunge and contempt for pretty fashion rules. In my humble opinion Clint could make another Harry (as the full fledged Star) or another Western , with beard or without.

RE: Action Movie.......Action Movies seem to defined by some as a film containing a lot of motion and frequent violence. My definition is simpler...a film in which Good Guy sees  Bad Villain unjustly harm Innocent Person, then relentlessly pursues BV and finally provides an eye for eye and a tooth for a tooth, righteous justice in which BV suffers as bad or worse the the evil caused. Action for me is a mental tough and righteous attitude. Not necessarily coupled with a lot of running and jumping and shooting . Well, maybe just enough shooting.  ;) Or maybe just enough throwing the BV in the slammer for 99.

Robert Duvall was very effective in Open Range and Broken Trail.  He wasn't 80 plus years when he made them, but in his 70s and I thought the films were done very well and enjoyed seeing him in them.  I believe Eastwood would do just as well even at 84.  As for an action film, I just don't see it with Clint.  At best I could see him in a cameo or a slightly bigger role in an Expendables sequel, or as an elder Dirty Harry with, possibly, Scott Eastwood playing a younger Callahan.  Clint's appearance would be to show what the retired detective is up to now and helping solve a cold case of his, possibly narrating the scenes with his son playing the younger Harry.

To stay on topic (and I'm not sure if this image has been posted yet), here's what an elder Dirty Harry may look like:

That is such a great photo, Jed. I've seen it before but it's one of my favorite photos of Eastwood. It's really well done.
