I can't believe people are voting off "I'm a Loser" against this competition.... "Things We Said Today" is one of my favorite Paul songs from this album and this era.
"I'm a Loser" has never been a favorite of mine. "Things We Said Today", on the other hand, is. I really love that song, especially the minor 7th chord that opens it, giving it such an eerie sound which is then balanced out by Paul's soft vocal. It's beautiful. "When I Get Home" and "Any Time At All" are two more of my favorites, going back to my first Beatles album, "Something New" that I listened to constantly until I could raise enough paper route money to buy more records and/or raid my brother's record collection. I guess there's some sentimental bias toward the songs on that album that made me a fan of the band, and particularly of Lennon's songwriting and sound.

Thanks to everyone for playing last round. We had a game-high participation of 11 members playing! The songs that were voted off this time were "Baby's In Black" and "I'm A Loser". BEATLES SONG SURVIVOR - ROUND THIRTEENThis round, we continue with songs from "Beatles for Sale", except for the last song ("She's A Woman"), which was the "B" side of "I Feel Fine", released on November 27, 1964. We'll hear "I Feel Fine" next round. As before, vote off two of the following songs, and list an alternate third choice that will only be used as a tie-breaker if needed. The three surviving songs from this round will be brought back later in the game to compete with the other rounds' survivors. 1. "I Don't Want to Spoil the Party" (Lennon/McCartney); Lead vocal: Lennon, with McCartney and Harrison 2. "Every Little Thing" (Lennon/McCartney); Lead vocal: Lennon, with McCartney 3. "No Reply" (Lennon/McCartney); Lead vocal: Lennon, with McCartney 4. "Eight Days a Week" (Lennon/McCartney); Lead vocal: Lennon, with McCartney 5. "She's A Woman" (Lennon/McCartney); Lead vocal: McCartney (When I end a round and start the next, I'll need to take the songs from the previous round down so that the next round's songs will fit on the website. Therefore the links in each round will still show up, but they won't work once that round has ended.)NOTE: You can join in the game anytime. You don't need to have been voting from the beginning to play.
